Maybelline Master Drama Cream Pencil in Vibrant Violet

I'm a huge fan of wearing coloured eyeliners on my lower lash line, and purple is one of my favourite shades to wear. I've been trying out Maybelline's Master Drama Cream Pencil in the shade Vibrant Violet*, which is a beautiful eggplant colour. I've been wearing a lot of purple eye shadows recently, and this has been the perfect liner to compliment these looks.

"WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

• Smudgeproof and waterproof for 16 hours.
• Most intense line for lasting drama.
• Safe for sensitive eyes and ophthalmologist-tested.
• Contact lens safe." - Maybelline

Maybelline's Master Drama Cream Pencil has, as the name would suggest, a creamy formula. I wouldn't say that this liner has the creamiest formula that I've ever tried, but it does still glide right on and it doesn't tug at my eyes at all. The shade Vibrant Violet is a beautiful dark purple colour that actually isn't too vibrant (in my opinion). I love wearing this on my lower lash line when I'm wearing purple eye shadows. I've recently been obsessed with Stila's In the Moment palette, and this liner goes beautifully with those shades. The pigmentation of this liner is good, but I don't find it to be outstanding. This liner stays on without smudging all day long, but I don't have oily eyelids. When swatched on my hand, this liner stayed put for hours, even through multiple hand washings!

My one big complaint with this liner lies with the packaging - once I twist up this pencil, I can't seem to get it to twist back down. I really hate non retractable packaging like this! I'm not sure if this is the case for all of these liners, or if mine is just a random error.

There are 6 shades in Maybelline's Master Drama Cream Pencil line, and I'm really wanting to try out Bold Brown and Midnight Master (love the names!). Have you tried this formula from Maybelline before? What are your favourite eye liner formulas? :)

  1. This is a great super wearable shade but that packaging, if it's not a glitch, is so frustrating. I always like to roll up to see how much product I have left, so I'm pretty sure I'd ruin this quite fast!

    1. I know! I'm hoping that my packaging is just faulty, and that's not what the packaging is normally like!

  4. Beautiful colour! I actually have the same liner, and just now when you mentioned that yours won't twist down, I checked mine and it does the same thing...well that sucks :(
