If you're a regular reader of my blog, then you'll know that I'm a highlighter junkie. I absolutely love adding some shimmer to my cheekbones to complete my makeup look. I've been a long-time fan of Benefit's liquid highlighters (High Beam was my first high-end makeup product ever!), and now I'm loving Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl* ($36 CDN/0.4 oz). Read on to hear my full thoughts on this highlighter...
What it does: For a delectable glow, fancy up with this golden-pink liquid pearl luminizer. Its sheer, light-reflecting formula in a fresh, raspberry scent glides on smoothly for a breathtakingly radiant complexion. Wear it alone for a youthful dewy glow, or over makeup for lustrous "pearlessence."
What else you need to know: This product contains moisturizing sesame seed oil and skin-soothing raspberry, chamomile, and sweet almond seed extract to improve skin firmness and smoothness." - Sephora
Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl comes packaged in a beautiful purple chrome tube that twists up to reveal the product. I honestly would have preferred to have seen Girl Meets Pearl in either a tube or the same nail polish type of bottle that Benefit's High Beam and Sun Beam are packaged in. I'm not sure why Girl Meets Pearl is in this type of packaging, but I find that it can be a little bit messy. Packaging aside, this liquid highlighter is absolutely beautiful! Girl Meets Pearl is a pink based highlighter with a golden sheen & shimmer. I normally opt to use my liquid highlighters mixed into my foundation to give a glowy look to my skin (great for girls with dry/normal skin, not so great if you have oily skin). However, you can also use this liquid highlight over top of your foundation, by blending it out with your fingers or a brush. Girl Meets Pearl brings a beautiful glow to my skin, and it can look quite natural when blended out. Girl Meets Pearl is more golden, whereas Benefit's High Beam is a bit silvery.

If you're a fan of liquid highlighters, then you need to try out any of Benefit's offerings! Benefit definitely knows how to make a good highlighter, and Girl Meets Pearl is no exception. I think that golden highlighters are my favourite (no wonder I'm pretty much done with my pan of NARS' Albatross), so Girl Meets Pearl is perfect for me. Have you tried out Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl, or any of their other liquid highlighters before? :)
this is really pretty! i definitely prefer golden highlighters as well. :) i had to google this to see how the tube worked, that is a bit unfortunate, but the product inside is lovely!

Oops - My picture of the lid/opening wasn't working - fixed now! :)
DeleteThis is lovely. "pink champagne" highlighters (as I've dubbed them - gold-tinted pinks, sometimes with a bit of a white-gold finish...as opposed to silver, if that makes sense) work really well with my skin-tone, and this one is no exception. Reminds me to find my wee sample version!
ReplyDeleteThat definitely makes sense! I love golden tones, they're just so flattering :)
DeleteI saw this for $10 at my local Shoppers the other day (massive sale), but I skipped out on this because I wasn't sure what the verdict was. It's still a lovely highlighter, but probably going to skip out on this one as I already own High Beam and Moon Beam!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - that's an amazing price! You have such great self-control lol
DeleteThis highlighter looks gorgeous! Super pretty :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteOh wow what a pretty color!

Thanks! :)
DeleteI have high Beam and do you think they are very similar? I love liquid highlighters but find them a bit tricky to apply. But after seeing your post, I may have to go check it out.
ReplyDeleteHigh Beam is a bit more silvery and Girl Meets Pearl is more golden! I love both and they do look different on the skin, but I wouldn't say that you absolutely need both!
DeleteIt's the packaging that puts me off. It's similar to that gal and I hate it. So much so I am constantly buying sets with minis in to get a tube. Lovely highlighte though. Xx
ReplyDeleteI know, the packaging definitely sucks! :(
DeleteThis is one of the most beautiful highlighters ever! It's my absolute favorite, go-to highlighter! Great review!

Thank you! It is really beautiful :)
DeleteI haven't used this one but used to swear by their other lighter offering years ago when I wore more minimal make up.
