Kérastase Elixir Ultime Masque

I've heard so many great reviews on Kérastase's Elixir Ultime range, so I was really excited to try out their Elixir Ultime Masque* ($59/200ml). Let's start off this review with a little about my hair: very dry, damaged from years of heat use, thick, naturally wavy, coloured. I'm always looking for hair care products that promise to hydrate, repair, and restore, which is just what this mask does!

"Oil-cataplasm : a deep infusion of precious oils for lavish care, as precious as gold. Richer hair substance with a precious touch, outstanding softness and dazzling shine. Apply a small amount to the lengths and ends of the hair. Massage in gently, focusing on the most damaged areas. Leave to work for 5 minutes then rinse well. Oleo-Complexe: the association of 4 legendary oils:
▪ Pracaxi : resistance
▪ Argan : protection
▪ Camelia : shine
▪ Maize : nutrition" - Kérastase

Kérastase's Elixir Ultime Masque comes packaged in a gold plastic tub with a screw off lid. The product itself is golden yellow with a very slight shimmer to it. This formula is fairly thick, which I always love for my deep conditioners to be. Kérastase's Elixir Ultime Masque has a nice salon scent to it that I can't quite place my finger on, but I do really like the scent. The scent does stick with my for a full day, but it isn't very strong.

I apply Kérastase's Elixir Ultime Masque onto damp hair after shampooing. I apply this to the bottom of my hair, keeping it off of my scalp. I keep this on for the rest of my shower (about 5 minutes), and then rinse out. Since this formula is packed with oils, it is very hydrating and nourishing. Since my hair is naturally so dry, I've really been loving this mask! I find that this formula really works to hydrate my hair, but don't be scared because it doesn't weigh down my hair at all. If you have very thin or oily hair, this might not be the best product for you. However, if you're like me and always searching for moisturizing hair products, I really think you'll enjoy this.

If you have very dry or damaged hair, I definitely think that Kérastase's Elixir Ultime Masque could help restore moisture into your locks. This is a luxury hair care item, but I definitely do notice a difference every time I use it (about once a week). Kérastase has many different hair masques in their range, so there's bound to be something for everyone's specific hair type. Have you tried any of Kérastase masques, or any of their Elixir Ultime range? How do you keep your hair hydrated?
