"Here is our gentle, non-stripping shampoo for damaged, over-processed, colored, bleached and fragile hair. It cleanses hair in the gentlest way, while locking in moisture with a huge helping of mashed-up fresh bananas, cocoa and cupuacu butters. These rich, nourishing and softening ingredients help bring damaged hair back to life and keep your locks in top shape." - Lush
The first ingredient is Lush's Blousey is Fresh Organic Bananas - how amazing is that!? The bananas in this formula allow Lush to make it preservative free. Even so, this shampoo still has a shelf live of about 14 months. Bananas are one of my favourite fruits & scents, and I was surprised to find that Blousey doesn't have much of that traditional banana scent. It's much more realistic and toned down, so I think that you would enjoy this even if you aren't a huge fan of banana. This formula is quite thick, and I like to take a small dallop and apply to wet hair. I start at the scalp, and massage in the product just like I would with any other shampoo. I then completely rinse out Blousey, and apply a conditioner. If you have oily hair, you might be able to skip the conditioner.
Blousey leaves my hair feeling super soft & manageable, and I also notice less frizz (score!). I don't find that the scent of this shampoo lingers in my hair, but that might be because I use different scents in my conditioner & styling products. Since my hair is so dry & damaged, I absolutely love and need a highly moisturizing shampoo. I love that Lush's Blousey hydrates my hair without making my locks look or feel greasy. This formula doesn't weigh down my hair, which is important for my wavy strands!
This shampoo is quite pricey, but I think that it's a nice "treat yourself" item, especially if you want something preservative free & vegan. Have you tried Lush's Blousey before? How do you help to hydrate and nourish your hair?
oh this sounds so lovely! i haven't tried any lush shampoos yet, but i do have their okra conditioner to try soon from the retro line that i grabbed a little while ago. i like that this doesn't smell *too* much like banana, it might actually work for me :)

I really love Lush's hair care line - it doesn't get enough love in the blogging world!
DeleteI have switched to Lush's Big Shampoo(for oily hair) last year and absolutely love it. You're right, it is a bit pricey but I'm happy with the results and it is always nice to pamper yourself.
ReplyDeleteThat's the shampoo I have to try out next! It sounds amazing :)
DeleteBananas in it?! Sounds amazing!

It is amazing! :)
DeleteOooh I love Lush and hair masks! Have you tried The Strokes one?
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried The Strokes! It's retro, right? :)
DeleteSounds totally awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love it! :)
DeleteYooo that's expensive... I do like the looks of it though, I kind of want to spread it on some bread and eat it lol
ReplyDelete... and that is why lush stuff sometimes have this is not edible warnings on them...
I know, it is very expensive! But... it's really great!
DeleteAha, I'm not gunna lie, I've been tempted to eat several Lush products!
This sounds amazing! I love anything banana scented :)
ReplyDeleteI do too! :)
DeleteThis sounds REDONK. It looks like banana bread batter and the ingredients blip on the lid makes me think it smells like a bit of a mix bag -- I love black currant and banana, myself, but I'm intrigued that you're describing it as more mellow and down to earth. Hmm. I've never had a Lush hair product...maybe now's the time to try...
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely not your average shampoo! But I really love it :) Lush's hair care range is really great!
