OPI Blush Hour

Happy Family Day everyone (or Presidents Day in the States)! I had an amazing weekend in Montreal with some friends, but I'm back home in Ottawa now. Today I have a new nail polish to share with you, one that I've been rocking all weekend long. OPI is releasing their new Spotlight on Glitter Collection in March, and I've been loving the shade Blush Hour* ($10.95 CAD).

"Glitter takes center stage with the launch of Spotlight on Glitter, a new collection of OPI’s best and brightest sparkling lacquers. The line showcases OPI’s most popular metallic and holographic lacquers in rainbow, gold, silver and pink iridescent confetti; these glitters may be worn alone or layered over any nail color for a dazzling effect.

“Glitter isn’t just for wearing on New Year’s Eve! Just because the holidays are over doesn’t mean you can’t still wear sparkle,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder & Executive VP. “Try creating an ombré effect or accent nails by adding a layer of sparkle for a fun night on the town.” - OPI

OPI Blush Hour

"Sorry, gotta blush... this super dense fuchsia glitter is way too charming." - OPI

OPI's Blush Hour is a beautiful chunky glitter polish that was fully opaque in three coats. You could also easily add a single layer of Blush Hour over top of any regular nail polish for a more subtle glitter effect. I am using this with OPI's new Glitter Off base coat, so I'll be sure to let you know how removal goes once I take off this beautiful glitter. I wore this pink and purple glitter on Valentine's Day, and it was such a great choice! OPI's Blush Hour has a beautiful mix of pink and purple medium sized glitter pieces, smaller silver glitters, in a jelly pink base. The formula of this polish is fairly thick, and I have a feeling that after a few uses it will start to dry out - it might be handy to have a bottle of OPI's Nail Lacquer Thinner on hand. This glitter polish does leave my nails with a textured finish, but it isn't rough or bothersome, in my opinion. I've been wearing this polish for 5 days now, and I just have chipping on one nail - I think that's pretty great, especially for a glitter polish!

If you're a fan of glitter polishes, I highly recommend checking out OPI's Blush Hour when it hit shelves next month! I'm excited to see how OPI's new Glitter Off Base Coat works, as I'll be removing this polish later on tonight. Keep an eye out for a review on this new base coat later on this week! Would you wear a chunky glitter like Blush Hour? Are you excited about OPI's new Spotlight on Glitter Collection? :)
