Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks - Periwinkle, Lemon, & Gunmetal

Revlon has recently released their new Colorstay Shadowlinks*, and I have three shades to share with you today! I have the shades Periwinkle, Lemon, & Gunmetal, which retail for $3.45 CAD/1.4g. These new shadows can be bought individually, and then "clicked" together to make your own palette. I love the idea behind this packaging, so read on to find out how I got on with the formula...

"Customize Your Palette Mix. Match. Click.

-Interchangeable shadows easily snap together or come apart

Left to right: Periwinkle (Pearl), Lemon (satin), & Gunmetal (satin)

I have three shades of Revlon's Colorstay Shadowlinks - Periwinkle, Lemon, & Gunmetal. Periwinkle is a beautiful bright blue, but the formula of this shade is the driest of the three. There is a nice shimmer to this shadow, and it does show up quite well on the eyes. The shade Lemon is a bright yellow, as the name would suggest. This formula is quite creamy, but the pigmentation isn't quite there. You really have to layer on Lemon to get it to show up. However, I have found that when I layer Lemon over top of Periwinkle it helps to tone down the brightness, making it a more wearable shade. The shade Gunmental is my favourite of the three, and it's a bold grey with a nice shimmer to it. I've been adding this to my outer corner to deepen up any eye look.

I have been using Revlon's Colorstay Shadowlinks over top of Too Faced Shadow Insurance, which definitely does help increase the wear-time. I can get about 7 hours of wear out of these shadows, and then they start to fade pretty quickly. I would have liked these shadows to have better pigmentation and a creamier formula, but I wouldn't say that they were bad. I wouldn't recommend the Lemon shade, but Periwinkle and Gunmental are fairly good. Do these replace my love for Urban Decay shadows? Definitely not, but they are a lot more affordable.

I really love how the packaging of these individual shadows can be linked together to create your own custom palette. However, the quality didn't blow me away. I would be interested in trying out some of the more neutral shades in this formula to see how they compare. There are 30 shades available, so there's bound to be something for everybody. Have you tried any of Revlon's new Colorstay Shadowlinks? I would love to know what shades you've tried, and how you liked the formula!

  1. I love the concept of clicking them together to create a custom palette! Gunmetal looks really lovely, I don't think I could pull off the other shades though! I'd definitely be interested in seeing more of the neutral shades and how they compare with the brighter ones in terms of pigmentation/formula. x

    1. The concept is amazing! These shadows swatched quite well on my arm, but the pigment just wasn't the same on my eyes!
