Revlon Nail Art Sun Candy - Shimmering Sunset

Revlon has released a new nail art duo called Sun Candy, and today I have the shade Shimmering Sunset* ($8.95 CAD) to share with you! This nail polish comes packaged in a dual ended tube containing a "bright base coat and iridescent top coat for a dazzling solar effect". I love the idea of this type of packaging, since you can easily wear the base colour on it's own, and then use the glitter on all nails, as an accent nail, or not at all depending on your mood.

"Sugary topcoats for a dazzling solar effect.
Vibrant colours plus refined sugary topcoats for nails that out-dazzle the rest. In 10 brilliant shades." - Revlon

The shade Shimmering Sunset contains a hot pink base that had really great pigmentation. I used two coats of this shade for a fully opaque look. This polish was super creamy and easy to work with, I was really impressed! Due to the shape of this packaging, I did find that the bottle could be a bit awkward to paint with, but it wasn't horrible. Just took a bit of time to get used to! After letting the base colour dry for a few minutes, I then applied one coat of the glitter shade. This glitter contains irridescent gold/blue glitter pieces suspended in a sheer pink base. This glitter is really pretty, and one coat gives a nice subtle look. If you wanted a more visible glitter finish, I would recommend using two coats of the glitter shade. This glitter doesn't feel gritty or rough on my nails.

I really love how Revlon packaged a bright base colour along with a glitter polish in one sleek tube. This packaging makes nail art incredibly easy and straightforward. There are 10 different shades in this new Sun Candy formula/packaging, and I'm really wanting to try out Northern Lights, Solar Flare, and White Hot. Have you checked out Revlon's new Sun Candy polishes? :)

  2. I like the brightness of this duo. I have a bottle like this in a different shade, and found it a little awkward to use as it is quite heavy to hold while painting your nails.

    1. I found that too, I have to put the bottle on a table instead of holding it in my hands!

    1. The bottle is a bit annoying to use but at the same time I love how you get the two colours together!
