Benefit Lollitint

Benefit recently launched a new lip & cheek stain called Lollitint* ($36 CAD/0.42 oz), which fits perfectly into the Colour of the Year shade that is radiant orchid! I've been on the hunt for a lilac/orchid blush for the past year, and it's not a common shade that brands seem to be making. I'm really happy that Benefit has added this shade to their lineup, as I definitely think that it has been missing in the beauty world!

"What it is: A smudge-proof lip and cheek stain in a candy-orchid tint.

What it does: This lasting lip and cheek tint adds a beautiful flush of pink to lips and cheeks with true staying power. Smudge-proof and smooch-proof, color lasts day to night." - Sephora

Benefit's lip & cheek stains come packaged in adorable little nail polish-esque bottles The formula of Lollitint is fairly thin, and I definitely recommend working with one cheek at a time - this baby sets quick! I actually like to use one or two drops of Lollitint on my Real Techniques' Stippling Brush, and then blending it into my cheeks. When I use my fingers, I find that the product starts to set before I can fully blend it out.

Benefit's Lollitint is a beautiful orchid/lilac shade that can be worn fairly sheer, but it can also be build up with subsequent layers. This formula can be worn on your cheeks or lips, but I find it too drying to be worn alone on the lips. I need to use several layers on my lips to build up the colour. However, on my cheeks I only need to use one layer. This stain formula from Benefit isn't my favourite, as it can be quite difficult to work with - sets very quickly, and can move around my foundation. I've actually found that I prefer to apply 2 layers of Lollitint on bare skin, and then apply my foundation over top. This way, the liquidy formula doesn't move around my foundation, but the orchid blush still shows through beautifully. As the name suggests, this product does create a nice stain . On my cheeks, Benefit's Lollitint lasts all day long without fading!

Overall, I love this orchid shade & it's one that isn't readily available in the blush market. This formula isn't fool proof, and it does take some time to figure out how to use it perfectly. If you have oily skin, you'll love this true stain formula, and you won't have to touch up throughout the day. Have you tried Benefit's new Lollitint, or any of their other lip & cheek stains? :)

    1. Thanks girls! I also used to have Posietint but I didn't really like it! Passed it on to a friend.

  3. This is very pretty but I am just not into benefit tints anymore, I don't like how unsanitary the application is. I have three bottles of their tints sitting at home collecting dust :(

    1. I like to drop the tint onto a brush and then apply it to my face, makes it a bit more sanitary! But I still do prefer a traditional cream blush formula :)

  4. I don't have a lot of experience with benefit tints, but this is a really pretty colour on you! I don't think I would wear it on the lips sounds like too much effort :)

  6. Very pretty! I haven't tried this one out yet, good to know that it can move foundation around a bit. Thanks for the tip!

  7. I tried this in store, but didn't blend it quickly enough and I ended up with a stain in the middle... It just didn't look nice. It's unfortunate because I thought I would really love this! I seem to be the only person who doesn't absolutely love it, though. Weird.

    1. You do have to blend it super quickly, which is why I like to drop it onto a brush, and apply it that way! :)

  8. It looks great on you! I've found that the lilac colors really do give pretty effects as cheek and lip products. Thats why I love my Too Faced Sex Pot glamour gloss. I don't think I will be purchasing this though because I'm not one to use the liquid "tints"; I much prefer powders. But I"m on the search for a lilac/orchid blush.

I have the red one (I forget the name) but I'm not a big fan of it on my lips. I'll have to try it as a blush.

  11. Ouu, that's pretty smart to apply the stain first, and then foundation! I'm not really a fan of these stains anymore, since they're such a hassle to use (unsanitary, stains your fingers, stains your brush), but this is still a lovely colour!

  12. Of all their tints, I love this shade the most! What foundation do you wear it with? I wear Covergirl 3 in 1 almost religiously, but I find it can't be used with liquid or cream blushes well.

    1. I've been wearing Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation. I find that this stain works best when applied on my cheeks before applying my foundation, that way it doesn't move around my base :)

    1. Thanks Natalie! If you have issues with your blush lasting throughout the day, you should give a stain a try :)
