Mary Kay Nail Lacquer - Lemon Parfait & Carefree Coral

I've been playing around with Mary Kay's Hello, Sunshine! Collection for the past week, and today I have the two polishes from the line to share with you! Mary Kay's Nail Lacquer in Lemon Parfait* & Carefree Coral* ($10 CAD/7.5 ml) are two great Spring shades. The weather here in Ottawa has been really sunny for the past two days, and I'm really hoping that the sun sticks around! The snow is melting, and I couldn't be happier! I'm now ready to rock bright polishes, and ditch some of the more vampy varnishes.

"This season’s Limited-Edition Hello, Sunshine! Collection focuses on eyes and lips, with flirty lashes and warm washes of colour. Create expressive eyes with sunny colours on lids and soft, feminine lips with light roses and corals, and then finish the look with an ultra-trendy winged cat eye with our new Mary Kay® Gel Liner. Don’t forget to show hands and feet a little love. Nail colours in creamy yellow and coral are all the rage this season." - Mary Kay

Mary Kay's Lemon Parfait is a beautiful pale yellow shade with a really great formula! I find yellow to be one of the hardest polishes to come across - they always seem to be streaky, patchy, or just not flattering. However, Lemon Parfait has a thick, creamy formula that applies effortlessly. This shade is quite light & pastel, but I find this more flattering than something a bit brighter or neon. This polish dried really quickly, and to a shiny finish. I used two coats for an opaque finish.

Carefree Coral is a pretty coral polish with a creme-jelly formula that was a bit sheerer than Lemon Parfait. I used three coats of Carefree Coral, and you could still slightly see my nail line. I really enjoyed the pink undertones of this orange polish, as I find that made it a lot more flattering on my skin tone. This formula wore for 4 days on my nails without chipping, which I think is quite impressive!

Both polishes are limited edition, so if something interests you, order it sooner rather than later! Out of these two shades, I actually prefer Lemon Parfait - the formula was just such a dream to work with! Have you started wearing brighter nail colours for Spring yet? :)

    1. Yellow is such a hard polish to find a great formula in! I'm really happy with this formula, it's so creamy & pigmented! :)

I really love the coral one, despite it being so sheer the formula is so great!

I found the formula really thick and creamy, it's one of the best yellow polishes I've ever used!

  6. Oranges and yellows aren't my kind of colours, but Lemon Parfait is not that bad actually - I think the paleness has to do with that.

    1. I normally don't gravitate towards these shades either, but I like that these polishes aren't super bright or neon! :)
