Mary Kay Springy Eye Duos in Stonewashed & Summer Sunset

Today I have another product from Mary Kay's Hello, Sunshine! Collection to share with you; their Springy Eye Duos in Stonewashed* & Summer Sunset* ($18 each/0.03 oz). At first glance, these look like powder shadows, but they're actually cream to powder shadows. I love the consistency of this eye shadows, it's so fun and bouncy! Unfortunately, this formula just didn't stay put on my eyes no matter how I applied it, so I just can't recommend this product.

"The springy feel and bounce-to-the-touch sensation is so fun. And this lightweight, creamy formula glides on smoothly and resists creasing. Lasting color leaves an even, cream-to-powder finish. The Springy Eye Duo is part of the limited-edition† Mary Kay Hello, Sunshine Collection – spring’s must-have makeup featuring sun-washed hues with a beachy, vintage twist." - Mary Kay

Summer Sunset contains a shimmery coral and a yellow shade, which work really well together. This cream formula is really smooth, and these shadows are fairly pigmented. I would recommend using your fingers to apply these shadows, and brushes just won't pick up the creamy formula. I've tried using these shadows on their own, over a primer, and topped with powder shadows, but unfortunately I just can't get them to stay put on my lids. I normally never have any issues with my shadows staying all day long, so I was really surprised to see these shadows horribly creased after just 2 hours. It's such a shame, because the shades are really pretty, and the formula is super creamy & easy to blend & apply.

Stonewashed is compromised of a shimmery blue and a brown shadow, which again work really well together. The blue shade isn't super pigmented, but the brown shadow is quite lovely. Actually, all four shades work well together, and you can mix and match the two duos.

If you see a shade that you just have to have, then give these a try. Otherwise, I would give these shadows a pass. They just don't stay on my lids at all, which is a big deal breaker in my books. For $18 (or $36 for both duos), your money could be spent in better ways. The formula is super creamy, and I hope that Mary Kay can give these shadows better lasting power in future collections!
