NYC Sparkle Eye Dust - Aquamarine Sparkle

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Last week I posted a green festive eye look (seen here), featuring NYC's Sparkle Eye Dust in Aquamarine Sparkle* ($2.99). I thought I'd give you a more in depth review of this product today, as it's unlike anything that I've used before! This is a lose powder shadow, but it isn't a pigment.

  • "High shimmering loose powder eye shadow
  • The ultra soft formula, which is highly concentrated in multi-reflective pearls, creates maximum iridescence
  • The smart applicator delivers luscious, shimmering colour exactly where you want it!
  • Dermatologist tested" - NYC

NYC's Sparkle Eye Dusts come packaged in little bottles with a doe foot applicator. This is a loose powder eye shadow, which I was expecting to be fairly messy. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to use this product! I like to start off by using a primer and/or cream shadow, and then applying this loose powder over top. The shade Aquamarine Sparkle is a gorgeous shimmery blue/green that really brightens up any look. In the photos below, I added Aquamarine Sparkle in the middle of my lids, to work to liven up my look. I use the doe foot applicator to pat the powder directly on to my lids. This gives the tiniest amount of fall out, but for a loose powder it really wasn't too bad! When worn with other shadows, this loose powder lasts all day long.

I think that the shade Aquamarine Sparkle is super fun for St. Patrick's Day, but I don't think that it's too crazy and I'll be wearing it throughout the year. Have you tried any of NYC's Sparkle Eye Dusts? I think they're a great affordable option, and an easy to use alternative to pigments. Are you rocking any green today for St. Patrick's Day? :)

  5. I love that this has the impact of loose pigment, but the application is a bit more controlled thanks to the doe foot! :)
