Annabelle BB Compact Makeup

I recently finished off my compact of MAKE UP FOR EVER's Pro Finish, and I was looking for a drugstore alternative. This lead me to Annabelle's BB Compact Makeup* ($15.95 CAD/7.2 g). I've tried plenty of BB Creams, but this was my first time using a BB powder.

I don't generally turn to powders for a full coverage look, so I've been using this product as a setting powder. If you enjoy a light, natural look, then you could wear just this powder and a bit of concealer. I have the shade Light-Medium, and there is also an option of medium-dark. I tried my best to take swatch photos of this powder, but it matches my skin so well that it just wouldn't show up in a photo! This formula is very creamy, but if you get heavy handed then you can look powdery. I've been using a kabuki brush to really blend this powder into my skin. I really like using this on top of a dewy foundation to tone down the shine. This gives my skin a semi-matte look without looking flat. If you look really closely, there is a tiny amount of shimmer in this formula. Thankfully, the shimmer doesn't show up when applied to my face. There is a mirror and a double sided sponge in this compact, making it a great on-the-go option.

While I do really like this powder, I'm not sure what makes it a "BB powder". I wouldn't be able to wear this as a stand alone foundation, so I wouldn't recommend it for that purpose (unless you like a light coverage). I do love that this powder keeps me shine-free all day long, and I don't find myself needing to touch-up throughout the day. Have you tried Annabelle's BB Compact Makeup?

  3. I don't know if they updated the formula but this powder was extremely shimmery. Not highlighter shimmery but it emphasized my pores quite a bit!

    1. Oh really? I have read a few reviews mentioning a heavy shimmer, but I haven't noticed that with my compact!

  4. This sounds like a nice setting powder! I also like a more full coverage finish, so I wouldn't use this on its own.

  5. I'd like to know how it is a BB as well lol! Don't BB products usually have SPF in it?

    1. I think a lot of brands are just jumping on the BB craze, it doesn't have any skincare benefits that I'm aware of!

  6. I don't think I've heard of a BB powder before. Sounds like a fancy name for a pressed powder.

    1. Ya, I think so too. It's a good pressed powder, but I don't think it's "BB"!
