Today I have a cult favourite to share with you - Benefit's The Porefessional* ($37 CAD/0.75 oz.). I've had smaller samples of this product over the years, but I'm really glad to now have a full size bottle! I have large pores around my nose, and I'm open to trying any product that promises to reduce the size of those pores.
Benefit's The Porefessional is light beige in colour, but when blended into your skin it disappears completely. I'll use this after applying a moisturizer, and before applying foundation. You can either use this solely on areas that you tend to have large, visible pores, or you can use it all over your face. I really do find that this product works to reduce the size of my pores, but it doesn't erase them completely. I do find that this primer allows my foundation to glide on effortlessly, and it keeps my skin looking fairly matte throughout the day. My skin doesn't typically get oily throughout the day, but I have noticed a slight difference with this primer! This formula is very lightweight, you really can't feel it on your skin. If you don't wear foundation, you could easily wear Porefessional on its' own for a fresh face look. You can even use this to touch up throughout the day over top of your foundation!
If you have larger pores, I definitely think that this is a primer worth checking out. I recently got Maybelline's new Baby Skin, and I'm really interested in seeing how the two primers compare! If you would like me to do a beauty battle between the two, please let me know in a comment below :) Have you tried Benefit's Porefessional before? What are your favourite pore-reducing products?
I've only seen positive reviews of this - seems like a great product :o) Xx

It is really great! :)
DeleteI would love to see a versus post between all these primers! I never know which one to buy.
ReplyDeleteIt's in the works! :)
DeleteI'd be curious about a comparison. I have to do a review of babyskin eventually, but I don't think it is really much like the porefessional, and it doesn't make my makeup last longer as far as i can tell so far.
ReplyDeleteI'm excited to try out Baby Skin, it would be great to have a good drugstore alternative!
Deletethis is my favorite primer. I have large pores around my nose and this is the only one which makes my pores significantly smaller.
ReplyDeleteI have the same issues around my nose, this product works wonders for my pores!
DeleteI used this one a lot before I got into BB Creams, it really worked great at blurring out my pores. I never thought of using it as a primer though, I'll have to try that!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely try it as a primer! :)
DeleteI love this stuff. Works a treat on my skin x
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it too! :)
DeleteThis is one of my favourites, I love how it smooths over pores and fine lines. I can't leave the house without it!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it great? :)
DeleteI love this stuff! I'd be interested in a comparison between this and baby skin :)
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely do a comparison of the two! :)
DeleteAbsolutely love this stuff! It's seriously so good :)
ReplyDeleteIt's great, right? :)
DeleteYes this is definitely in my top primers… I'm still on the fence whether primers actually work for me in terms of longevity of make up but this certainly smooths out my skin before I apply foundation.

Ya I find that this one works best to control oils and reduce pores, but it also makes my makeup last an extra hour or two :)
DeleteIve heard a lot of great reviews about this it makes me want ti more!

It's definitely worth checking out! :)
DeleteI've tried this in countless sample sizes, so I'll probably never need a full-size, but I love it! The graphics are a bit weird to me, kind of off Benefit's usual mark, but it's still super cute!
ReplyDeleteI know, they seem to have this in sample size in all of their kits - not complaining though! :)
DeleteI'd love to see a comparison post as well. My pores always bother me too, but I've yet to find a primer that works. Will have to give this a try!
ReplyDeleteI'm working on a comparison post this week! :)
DeleteI have been using both Baby Skin and Porefessional and I have to say...the Porefessional leaves a smooth finish while Baby Skin stays sort of tacky. They both work, but I feel like the Porefessional was more comfortable. I have a comparison post coming too so I'd love to read your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteI've been using Baby Skin just around my nose where my pores are the worst, and while I like the way it feels, it doesn't really do anything for my pores!
DeleteI don't wear foundation, so I've never really given primer a try. To me, it seems like they go together. I've gotten samples of this, but gave it away without trying for this reason.
ReplyDeleteYou can use pore fillers like this one without foundation, it just gives your skin a mattified look and fills in pores! :)
