I've been curious about Clinique's Chubby Sticks for what feels like years! I would also stare at them when walking through department stores, but I never actually picked one up and bought it. I guess back then I just didn't get the hype of jumbo pencils - but now I've completely changed my tune. I love jumbo pencils, and I want to try all of them. Well, I've been trying Clinique's Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in the shade Heftiest Hibiscus* ($19 CAD/0.1 oz), and today I'm sharing my thoughts with all of you!
Clinique has two different Chubby Stick formulas, and this one is the intense kind. I would describe Heftiest Hibiscus as being full on, pigmented colour. The pointed tip helps to outline your lips, but I know that this will wear down with subsequent uses. This formula does come in twist-up packaging, making it perfect to take with you on the go. Since this shade is so pigmented, I do recommend using a mirror to reapply.
Heftiest Hibiscus is a pretty orange-coral shade that works perfectly for Spring & Summer. This formula is hydrating, and it stayed creamy on my lips for about 4 hours. The colour itself started to fade at the 5 hour mark, which impressed me. There isn't any shimmer in this formula, but it does give a nice shiny look to your lips. As with all of Clinique's products, this one is 100% scent-free. I keep trying to smell the tube, and then remembering that Clinique is scent-free.
I've really been impressed with Clinique's Heftiest Hibiscus! The pigmentation is great, and I love how comfortable this formula feels. If you've been curious about this formula, I'd say give it a try - you might just be pleasantly surprised! Now I'm also wanting to try out the shades Roomiest Rose and Grandest Grape (these lippies could use some better names, am I right?). Have you tried this formula before? Which shades are your favourites?
wow that is really pigmented and pretty! i only have one clinique chubby stick and ti's the original line so very sheer. i would love to try out the more pigmented ones though, i have a lip crayon addiction...

DeleteI was going to say, this lip crayon name is sorta meh. Luckily the color is super pretty. I like the Clinique crayons. I think they fall between Tarte (being #1) and Revlon (being #3).
ReplyDeleteI need to try more of Tarte's lip crayons! :)
