I've fallen in love with Maybelline's Color Elixirs ever since I first tried Signature Scarlet, and I've since fallen in love with Glistening Amber and Dashing Orchid too. Well, I have another gorgeous shade to add to my collection, Hibiscus Haven* ($10.99 CAD).
"A stunning combination of smooth balm, potent colour extract, and glassy shine serum makes new Maybelline New York Color Elixir by by Color Sensational the most hypnotic lip colour. Maybelline New York is thrilled to introduce the most hypnotic lip colour yet. Able to transform ordinary lips into an alluring pout, Color Elixir by Color Sensational harnesses the best qualities of balm, lipstick, and gloss in one tube." - Maybelline
I absolutely love the packaging of these new Color Elixirs! The plastic rectangular tube is clear, and shows the colour in the middle. It looks as though a lipstick bullet is encapsulated inside the packaging, it's really cool! The applicator is also quite interesting, this is how Maybelline describes the applicator: "Magic Wand: A leaf-shape, 180 degrees of flexibility, and a mix of long and short fibers, makes application soft, precise, and delivers a high-shine finish."
Maybelline's new Color Elixir Color Elixir's combine a balm, lipstick, and lip gloss into one product. What I love about this formula is that it really feels like you are just wearing a lip balm, but you get a very pigmented colour and a glossy finish! I find that the formula is very hydrating, and I think that it would even work on dry, chapped lips. This formula lasts for about 4 hours on my lips before starting to fade away. These Elixirs last somewhat throughout eating and drinking, but you will have to reapply after a meal.
Hibiscus Haven is a beautiful bright blue-base pink shade that is perfect for Spring/Summer! I love a bright lip, and I feel like this shade is still pretty easy to pull off. This colour has good pigmentation - it will cover your lips in one pass, but it isn't full coverage. I love pairing bright pinks like this one with a smokey eye and a neutral cheek.
Wow line this shade!! So pretty :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! :)
DeleteI honestly still am not sure how I feel about this... I just feel like I was very misled by the ads that promised it to be a super intense lip color but thus far I have only see very few pigmented shades.... To me they aren't that different from lip glosses at all, at least for the Lancome Lip Colors the formula feels lighter
ReplyDeleteYa I know that you love your pigmented glosses! For me they feel really nice and comfortable! Haven't tried the Lip Lover yet, hopefully this week :)
DeleteI only have one shade so far and it's not very pigmented but it is very pretty!
ReplyDeleteYa you have the glistening amber shade, right? It's not super pigmented but I really don't mind! :)
Deleteyes to these! lol you know i'm a fan so im glad you picked up another.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the formula! One of my lip faves from the drugstore! :)
DeleteVision in Violet is my fave! It's so bright and vivid. I love the Color Elixir line.
