Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm - Unapologetic

I've been loving Revlon's ColorBurst Matte Balms, and I'm happy to have a few more bright shades added to my collection. First up is the shade Unapologetic* ($9.95 CAD), which is a beautiful bright coral. I normally stay away from matte lip products, since they're typically very drying - but this formula is lovely!

Revlon's ColorBurst Matte Balms come in colour coded packaging, which I just love. The shade name is printed on the bottom of the tube, with both the name and number. These jumbo pencils twist up, so you don't need to worry about sharpening them. The tip is a bit large, so if you have very thin lips then this might be an issue, especially when you wear down the pointed tip. This formula has a very slight minty scent to it, which I find a lot less noticeable than the mintiness of Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains.

Unapologetic is a beautiful bright coral than leans more towards the pink side. This shade is very bright, but I still find it pretty easy to pull off since it's not neon. This formula is highly pigmented, and the colour fully covers my lips in one pass. Even though this is a matte formula, it's still very hydrating and creamy. The hydration sticks around for about 3 hours, and then I need to use a lip balm or gloss. The colour itself stays for about 5 hours before it starts to fade. I do find that if I reapply this colour on top of itself a couple times throughout the day, it can look a bit thick and unflattering.

I'm very happy with the shade Unapologetic, and I already knew that I loved the matte formula. I highly recommend checking out a shade or two from the line, even if you normally hate matte formulas! Have you tried any of Revlon's ColorBurst Matte Balms? Which shade is your favourite?

    1. Aw that's too bad! I find them quite moisturizing, but my lips are in fairly good condition right now.
