Smashbox has recently released their new
Be Legendary Lip Gloss line, and I've already shown you
Melondrama. Now I'm back with the shade
Azalea* ($23/0.2 oz), which I have been loving! I'm really enjoying bright lip colours this Spring, and this gloss is bright without being too bold.
"Inspired by photo gels found on set, Smashbox created this glassy gloss with a clear, hydrating base free of traditional heavy binders for a non-sticky finish. Then they infused the formula slowly with vibrant pigments using a careful mixing process for an ultrarefined pigmentation in which all of the gloss ingredients are perfectly dispersed. The result is a superlight, comfortable blend that you can hardly feel, but that still leaves a bold wash of gorgeous color—just like a photo gel." - Sephora
Smashbox's new Be Legendary Lip Gloss comes packaging in a clear rectangular bottle with a flattened doe foot applicator. There is a very slight scent to this gloss that slightly reminds me of Summer, but I can't quite put my finger on it. The larger doe foot applicator covers a lot of area - which is great for my large lips. However, this might be a bit too big for someone with thinner lips.

The shade Azalea is a beautiful bright magenta with medium pigmentation. I really like how this looks on my bare lips, but if you prefer a completely opaque look, then you'll need to pair this with a lipstick. Azalea doesn't have any shimmer in it, just a smooth, creamy gloss. I think that this colour is perfect for Spring/Summer, and it pairs beautifully with a pink cheek and natural eyes. This formula is super glossy, and it feels lightweight on my lips. This is one of the most comfortable lip gloss formulas that I've ever tried - it's not sticky at all! Even still, this formula stays on my lips for 3 hours, which I find to be quite good for a gloss. This will withstand light eating and drinking, but you'll want to reapply after a full meal.

I definitely think that Smashbox's Be Legendary Lip Gloss line is worth checking out, especially if you hate sticky gloss! I also think that this line is reasonably priced, and it's one of the more affordable high-end brands that you'll find at Sephora or Shoppers. Now I'm wanting to try out the shades Illume, Coquette, and Pink Lady! Have you tried out this new formula?
