Clarins Colours of Brazil Eye Quartet & Liner Palette

I love a good neutral palette, and I love them even more when there's one bright shade thrown into the mix! Clarins Colours of Brazil Eye Quartet & Liner Palette* ($42 USD) does exactly that. This beautiful palette contains 4 powder shadows and one bright blue creamy liner.

Clarins's Colours of Brazil Eye Quartet & Liner Palette is packaged beautifully. I love the burnt orange casing, it's just stunning. Inside you'll find four powder shadows, each stamped with a pretty design. Then you have the gorgeous bright royal blue liner. Finally, you'll find two little brushes, which actually aren't too bad.

These shadows have decent pigmentation, but they definitely aren't highly pigmented. This level of pigmentation allows you to create a truly natural, neutral eye. I know most girls want an intensely pigmented shadow, but that might not be the best option for someone wanting a more natural look, or for someone who's just starting to wear makeup. The royal blue liner isn't as creamy as I was expecting it to be, but the slightly drier texture still works well, and allows the colour to last all day long on my last line.

I really like that Clarins added in the orange shadow, since that typically isn't seen in neutral palettes. The orange colour gives a more summery feel to this palette, and it pairs beautifully with the blue liner. The orange shadow has a beautiful golden sheen to it. The light beige shadow (bottom right in the palette) is incredibly creamy and smooth, it's really nice to work with. These shadows wear for about 8 hours on my lids before starting to gradually fade. When worn with primer, the wear time is obviously increased. These shadows remove quite easily with gentle makeup remover.

I'm really loving this palette! I think that Clarins absolutely nailed the packaging, and I love the inclusion of the orange shadow and blue liner. That really makes this otherwise neutral palette stand out. Are you interested in Clarins' Colours of Brazil Eye Quartet & Liner Palette? Are you a fan of coloured liners?

  1. I really like the embossed design in the palette. The colours are beautiful too! I'm not sure I'd use the orange too much, but I agree that it gives a spring feel to the palette, and it goes well with all the other shades.
