YSL Blush Radiance #9 Poppy Coral

As you might already know, I'm a huge blush fan. I love trying new blushes from every different brand, it's probably my favourite product to try out. Well, I've never tried a blush from YSL - until now! I've been using YSL's Blush Radiance in the shade #9 Poppy Coral* ($45 USD/$55 CAD for 4g). I love the luxe packaging of YSL's products, now let's see if their blush lives up to the pretty gold packaging.

YSL Blush Radiance Velvet Pouch

"Dress cheeks in a sensual flush of color with this ultra-chic compact that seamlessly blends matte and iridescent textures to create a shimmery, lit-from-within look. Incredibly versatile, this blush colors, contours and highlights to create any effect—from natural to glamorous. The beautifully bendable formula contains Self-adapting Pigments that capture and transform light’s intensity into a vibrant color source that complements any complexion. Remarkably silky texture blends beautifully for buildable, custom color.

These two new harmonies recreate the flush of a long walk down the Parisian streets, from the Tuileries to Saint Germain. Two new harmonies that revive the Rive Gauche spirit." - YSL

YSL's Blush Radiance comes packaged in a rectangular plastic gold compact with a large mirror and a brush. Personally, I find the packaging a bit large. On Sephora, these blushes seem to be packaged in square compacts that don't store the brush, which I would definitely prefer. The plastic packaging is a bit of a let down - for a blush this pricey I was wanting the packaging to be a bit more substantial.

YSL Blush Radiance #9 Poppy Coral

YSL's Blush Radiance contains four small blocks of blush, in tone different tones/finishes. Shade #9 Poppy Coral contains a shimmery coral, and a satin peach shade. Since the blocks are quite small, I'm not sure that you'd be able to use them individually. I've been swirling my brush in the compact, mixing the shades together. This blush feels so velvety smooth, and it applies evenly to my cheeks. If you enjoy a natural blush look, I think you would love this formula. The colour isn't crazy pigmented, but that allows for a more natural finish, which I'm okay with. You can slightly build up the colour, but I don't think you'll ever be left with clown cheeks. I think that this coral shade will look even better when I have a bit of a tan!

YSL's Blush Radiance lasts for about 7 hours on my cheeks before it starts to slowly fade - not too bad! If you have oily skin, you might need to retouch a bit sooner. I love that this blush doesn't go splotchy on me, when it fades, it fades evenly.

YSL Blush Radiance #9 Poppy Coral Swatches

I've worn this blush every single day for the past week, so you know that I must love it! Is this blush worth the splurge? That's up to you to decide. This isn't the most exciting blush that I've ever tried, but the formula is great, and I love the flattering shade. Have you tried any of YSL's Blush Radiances? I have my eyes on shade #3, it looks like a gorgeous lilac!

    1. Ya, I definitely think their lippies are more deserving of the splurge, but I still love this blush! :)

  3. Hmm it's pretty, but not worth the splurge I think. There are many other shades similar to this one.

  5. Oh honey, I think we all know you're a huge blush fan by now ;)
I actually prefer larger packaging--not for the inclusion of a brush (those things are useless, not matter how expensive the blush/brand), but because the mirror is larger. The bigger the mirror, the better! And I need multiple mirrors!
I was a bit 'meh' when I saw the colours in the pan, but swatched out, they're gorgeous! I need to have a look in-store next time I'm at Sephora!
