"Anna Sui's new cheek colours bring your complexion to life with a natural pearlescent glow! Each compact comes with 4 colours and textures inspired by natural rose." - The Bay
The packaging for this powder is quite simple - a black plastic compact with metallic purple branding. There is a mirror inside the compact, making it a great travel option. The powder itself is just beautiful, there's five roses made up of four shades - blue, lilac, pink, and pearl. I've used this powder at least 20 times, and while the rose design isn't as strong, it's definitely still there. Another nice touch is that this powder has a very light, but noticeable, floral scent to it!
I was really hoping that this would turn into a gorgeous lilac blush, as that's something that's desperately missing from my collection. However, this really is a highlighter, not a blush. At first, I was slightly disappointed, but then I quickly fell in love with this highlighter. When swatched heavily, this looks white/silver, and slightly frosty. But when applied lightly to the cheekbones, it's just gorgeous. I love to pair Mystic Rose with a pink toned blush, and in the picture below I'm wearing Clinique's Cheek Pop in Berry Pop. This powder is so creamy, soft, and just a dream to apply. This highlighter isn't super long-wearing, as I get about 6 hours of wear out of it, but that's not a huge deal. Anna Sui notes that the four shades can be worn separately, but I just find it way easier to swirl all four shades together with my brush.
I do think that the name of this product is misleading - if you're ordering online, please be warned that this won't work as a blush. But, it is a beautiful highlighter. As my first experience with the Anna Sui brand, I'm very impressed! I'm definitely wanting to explore the brand further, so if you have any product recommendations, please leave them in a comment below. There are other shades in the Rose Cheek Color formula, and I'm wanting to try out Sunny Rose & Romantic Rose!
