essence silky touch blush in 50 sweetheart

I've already fallen in love with essence's nail polishes, but I haven't tried out too much from the rest of the brand. I've been trying out some other products (lip sticks, glosses, mascara, shadows!), but first, their silky touch blush in 50 sweetheart*.

"silk skin: a fresh complexion is essential for perfect style! you can set gorgeous, natural-looking highlights in soft as well as brighter shades on your cheeks with this silky-soft blush." - essence

essence's silky touch blushes come packaged in small round compacts that hold 5g of product - fairly standard for a powder blush. The powder does have a raised swirl design that will disappear after about 10 uses. Shade 50 sweetheart is a pretty neutral pink with slight shimmer. When swatched, this blush looks more pink, but on my cheeks I think that it looks a bit more nude/natural, with a hint of pink. This powder is very silky to the touch, and applies very easily with a blush brush. I think that this shade would be quite hard to overdue, as it is a very natural colour. On my cheeks, I get a full day of wear from this blush - about 9 hours! Really impressive coming from such an affordable brand!

If you're in the market for a new blush and you don't want to shell out a ton of cash, I definitely recommend checking out essence's silky touch blush range. I find that great blushes can be hard to come by at the drugstore, but I was very pleasantly surprised by essence's formula! Have you tried any of essence's silky touch blushes before?

  7. I've seen these in stores, but I had never seen it swatched or anything and didn't know what to expect. I'm not crazy about about the packaging, but the product itself looks nice.
