Homemade Nail Polish by Allison Rose Spiekermann + Giveaway

Today I have another nail polish book review for you! Homemade Nail Polish by Allison Rose Spiekermann* ($16.95) explains how to make your own nail polish at home, so you can custom match your polish to every outfit you own! Read on to the end of this post for a giveaway! :)

As you would imagine, Allison uses ingredients that you wouldn't normally have lying around the house. Silica, Propyl Acetate, and Camphor are some of the ingredients that are in these polish recipes, so you'll probably have to do some shopping. I can tell that Allison has a wealth of knowledge in this field, and that she's passionate about what she does. She goes into great detail explaining the different ingredients, tools, and techniques. I found the recipes made with eye shadow to be the most interesting, as you can use shadow shades that you have lying around going unused! The pictures in the book are great, and they show you what the end result will look like, as well as step by step guides on how to get there. Homemade Nail Polish is 96 pages packed with information, glossy pictures, and creative ideas!

  1. This book looks like an awesome read! I'm interested to read the eye shadow polish part as well as the holographic parts. Does she go into how to make matte polishes as well?

  7. I was a nail biter for 42 years. I'm not quite sure what changed, or why, I only know after my first grandchild passed away from SIDS 18 months ago, I stopped biting my nails the day of his service, which now when I look back seems very strange, you'd think at a time like that I would bite more.... I was too exhausted from tears. we are moving at the end of this month. I was packing today & packed up his pictures... that was so very hard.
