I'm a huge fan of oils, and I've recently been introduced to hair oils that you use before shampooing! One of my favourite pre-shampoo treatments has been Kiehl's Magic Elixir Hair Restructuring Concentrate* ($24/125mL). This formula includes avocado oil, so you know it's going to be moisturizing!
Our formula helps reduce hair dryness and is infused with Safflower Seed Oil, known to contain Vitamin E and Omega-6 fatty acids.
The formula also helps moisturize the scalp and hair. Massage into scalp and transform to healthy-looking hair." - Kiehl's
Kiehl's Magic Elixir Hair Restructuring Concentrate comes packaged in a long plastic tube with a small dispensing tip. The oil is pretty much clear in colour, but the bottle itself is yellow. This oil is fairly thin in consistency, and it has a pretty strong scent to it. I can't quite place the scent, but I find it to be relaxing and pampering.
To use, take a small amount of the oil and apply it to your scalp and hair. My scalp can sometimes feel a bit dry and irritated, and those are the days when I love to treat my scalp with this oil. I probably only use a quarter sized amount for each application. If you use much more than that, you'll be wasting product and it might weigh down your hair.I leave the Magic Elixir on for 10 minutes, and then shampoo & condition as normal. I find that my hair is left with a healthy shine, reduced frizz, and a silkier feel. This oil doesn't weigh my hair down, but it takes something extremely heavy to weigh down my hair. If you have fine, limp hair, I'm not sure how this would work for you.
If you have a dry or sensitive scalp, I highly recommend checking out Kiehl's Magic Elixir Hair Restructuring Concentrate! I've been loving the results, and I've been using it once every one or two weeks, whenever I have the time. Have you tried any pre-shampoo treatments? If so, which ones are your favourites?
I have never used a pre-shampoo. What an interesting concept! I can only imagine how much hair stuff you have now. I kinda wanna see it all stacked up together like a pyramid. lol
ReplyDeleteHaha!! I have wayyyy too much, but I'm not complaining!
Deleteahh my scalp is so sore/dry at the moment, this sounds perfect.
ReplyDeleteYou would love this :)
Deletei Like the idea of putting in an oil before shampooing because my hair often gets weighed down if I apply an oil after shampooing
ReplyDeleteYa that's what is so great about this oil! :)
DeleteI love "pre-pooing" or pre shampooing. Sounds great!
