Last year, L'Oréal released their limited edition Collection Privée Exclusive Nudes* line, but now it's back and here to stay! Today I have the 6 lipstick shades to share with you, which retail for $10.99 CAD each, and will be available in the next week or two. Each lipstick was formulated for a specific L'Oréal ambassador.
The packaging of these lipsticks is just gorgeous. The tube is a black matte rubberized material, with shiny gold detailing. The signature of each of the ladies that the lipstick was formulated for is printed in gold on the tube. This packaging feels very high end, and it's one of the loveliest lipstick tubes that you'll find at the drugstore. The labels on the bottom of the tubes are colour coded, which is such a nice detail that I love to see on cosmetics. The formula of these lipsticks was really good - creamy and hydrating. I was able to wear most shade for 4 hours before I needed to reapply. There is a heavy perfume scent to these lipsticks that I'm not a huge fan of. If you have scent sensitivities, you probably won't enjoy this formula. There are 6 shades available in Canada, read on to see swatches!
Doutzen's Nude is my favourite shade in this line - surprise surprise! I love a baby pink lip, and Doutzen's Nude fits the bill perfectly. This light pink has a slightly frosty finish, and it's the perfect pigmentation. I personally like when pale shades like this aren't super pigmented, because then the lip can look too pale and stark.
Eva's Nude is a rusty nude that has good pigmentation. I personally don't love this shade on my complexion, but I think that it would look better on someone with a darker skin tone.
Freida's Nude is a pretty mid-toned pinky nude with good pigmentation and a shiny finish.
Jennifer's Nude, also known as J Lo's Nude, is a pale beige shade. This colour is a true nude, and I like that it doesn't look like concealer on my lips. Pigmentation is semi-sheer.
Julianne's Nude is a mid-toned pink shade with a shiny finish. Pigmentation is semi-sheer, but you can build up the coverage with a second layer.
Liya's Nude just doesn't work at all with my complexion, but it might look a lot better on those with a darker skin tone. This shade is a dark brown, and pigmentation was semi sheer, but coverage can be built up easily.
My two favourite shades are definitely Doutzen and Julianne, but it will all depend on your skin tone and colour preferences. I absolutely love the sleek, fancy packaging of these lippies, and I would recommend checking out the line once they hit drugstore shelves in the coming weeks. Did you pick up any of these lipsticks when they were originally released? Which shade is your favourite?
I am so excited about this release! I have my eye on Doutzens, Juliannes and Jlo's. I have a very fair complexion and I think those are the only ones that will suit me. Thank you so much for the swatches, they are so helpful!

Those three shades are gorgeous! :)
DeleteJulianne's is my pick! Lover that pinky color.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it pretty? :)
DeletePretty! Although none would really suit me as a nude shade since the dark one is so dark, its often the issue with these brands there is only one dark shade.

It's such an easy colour to swipe on and go! :)
DeleteIt's quite amazing to see how differently these look on your lips vs mine! I guess that's the good thing about the collection too, there is a color for every skin tone.
ReplyDeleteI know, right?! They look completely different on our lips!
DeleteI was just about to say, these are real shade-shifters! The way they look on Jasmine are quite different. I actually don't mind the darkest one on you, maybe a bit too warm though.
ReplyDeleteThey really look different depending on your natural lip shade! It's not horrible on me, but it's definitely not my favourite!
DeleteWow, such luxe packaging! Love Doutzen and J Lo! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the packaging!!
DeleteNeed these haha

Haha! The packaging alone is enough to justify the purchase :)
DeleteI have the Julianne lipstick and it's gorgeous! I don't usually go for nude shades as I love my dark pinks and reds but it's such a lovely shade to wear when I'm having a low key day. ^_^
