L'Oréal Colour Riche Wet Eyeshadow in Eternal Blue & Unforgettable Lilac

Today I'm back with another new product from L'Oréal's Fall 2014 line! L'Oréal's Colour Riche Wet Eyeshadow is launching in 8 shades, and I have 2 quads to share with you today, Eternal Blue & Unforgettable Lilac* ($11.99 CAD/3.5g). I don't think that I've ever tried a L'Oréal shadow before, so I was really excited to try these out!

L'Oréal markets these new quads as having the intensity of a gel shadow but with the ease of a powder. These shadows are quite creamy and smooth, and the pigmentation is really great as well. I've been trying these out on bare lids, and I like to apply them with a brush. These quads do come with one of those standard double sided foam applicators, but I honestly can't sand those. Both quads come with an all over the lid, contour, definition, and highlight shade - everything you'll need for a complete look!

The shadows in the Eternal Blue quad have great pigmentation, but I'm just not a fan of blue eye shadow. It's very easy to create a dramatic eye with this quad. I do wish that L'Oréal included one more neutral, brown shadow in this quad to make it a bit more wearable.

I really love purple shadows, so I was super excited when I saw the Unforgettable Lilac quad! These shadows have good pigmentation, but they aren't as bold as the shadows in the Eternal Blue quad. I love the two middle colours, they're just so fun, bright, and I personally think that purple flatters every eye colour. The darker definition shade is quite pigmented, and it can easily be used wet as a liner, or dry in the crease. I've been using all of these shadows dry, as I just don't like to have to bother with wetting my eye shadow brush - I don't do my makeup in a bathroom. The shadows in both quads started to fade after about 5 hours, but they didn't crease or smudge. To prolong the wear time you can try using a cream shadow base or a primer.

Overall, I think that these quads are fun, and there's a lot of great colour options available. I was impressed with the pigmentation, but I do wish that they wore for a few more hours. If you have oily lids, these shadows might not last very long at all. Having said that, I am still interested in the Rose Nude quad!
