L'Oréal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream: Anti-Fatigue & Anti-Redness

L'Oréal is launching two new "BB Creams" as a part of their Fall 2014 line, and I have both of them to share with you today! L'Oréal's Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream now comes in both Anti-Fatigue* & Anti-Redness* ($16.99 CAD/1 oz) formulas, to help with your specific skin care needs.

L'Oréal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Fatigue

L'Oréal's Anti-Fatigue Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream comes in a peach tube. This product is very thin and runny, so make sure you shake the tube before using. Initially, this product comes out as a peachy beige toned product, but once it's applied and rubbed in, you can see the colour starting to change. Unfortunately, I find the end result to be far too orange for my skin tone. L'Oréal claims that this is a "universal shade", which to be honest is kind of ridiculous. No single shade will be able to match everyone's complexion! Those issues aside, this product does bring a nice luminosity to my skin. So, if this shade is a good match for your skin tone, then I think you'll like it's benefits. The product was easy to blend out, and stayed all day. I will note that although these are labelled as BB Creams, I would describe them as being more similar to corrective primers. You won't get much (if any) coverage from this product.

L'Oréal's Anti-Redness Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream comes in a green tube, and the product itself starts out as green toned. Green is meant to counteract redness, so this product is off to a good start. Once rubbed in, this "BB Cream" transforms into and beige toned colour. This colour matches my skin tone a lot better than the Anti-Fatigue formula, but it's still a tiny bit too dark. Another "universal shade" that definitely won't work for everyone. I think that these skin beautifiers would best suit those with olive undertones, but anyone with a pale or darker complexion probably won't love these shades. I don't have redness in my face, so I wasn't able to test out the effectiveness of the anti-redness claims. However, this product did even out my skin tone and create a nice canvas to start with!

Overall, I think that these are fun products, but they just didn't work that well for me. Self-adjusting colour products are always a gamble, as I don't think that there's something out there that will be able to match everyone's skin tone. If you're pale like me, the anti-redness formula would probably be the safer bet out of the two new products. These new Skin Beautifiers should be available now at mass market retailers and drug stores. Are you a fan of self-adjusting products?

  2. I've been quite curious about the anti-redness one. that color looks somewhat similar to my skin tone so I may have to give this a shot. I'm usually not a fan of self-adjusting products as they're kind of a hit-or miss but this one looks promising. Thanks for the review!

  3. I'm a huge fan of proper high coverage asian bb creams and I also love liquidy foundations but with such an orange color, it also won't work for me! Thanks for sharing!

  4. Generally the self adjusting products work ok for me, but that BB cream definitely looks quite orange which is disappointing.
