Mary Kay At Play Triple Layer Tinted Lip Balm

Mary Kay has recently released a new line of tinted lip balms, and they're incredibly cute! I really like tinted lip balms, because a sheer lip colour is so easy to apply on the go, and they're so low-maintenance. Mary Kay's At Play Triple Layer Tinted Lip Balms* ($12/3.5g) come in 4 adorable shades, and I've been trying out all of them!

"Wrap your lips in juicy beauty – this is your moment to shine! This comfortable-wearing, kissably delicious lip balm glides on smoothly and blankets lips in hydration. It provides a hint of colour, a touch of shine and a beautiful glow that brightens up the lips." - Mary Kay

Mary Kay's At Play Triple Layer Tinted Lip Balms come in white plastic packaging with a clear lid. The balms have a super cute design that includes three different coloured circles. These balms do have a fruity and plasticy scent that is fairly strong, and that might bother someone with scent sensitivities. I find the formula to be creamy but still very light. I don't find that my lips get a deep hydration from these balms, but they do give a light moisturization. All four balms offer a sheer wash of colour - perfect for the Spring and Summer! You can easily apply these balms on the go without a mirror. I get about 2-3 hours of hydration from these balms before I need to reapply.

I do quite like these new tinted lip balms from Mary Kay, but they aren't anything groundbreaking. If you're a huge Mary Kay fan, then add one or two of these to your next order. Otherwise, I think there are better drugstore options (Revlon Lip Butters anyone?). Do you like a good tinted lip balm, or do you prefer a more pigmented lip?

    1. I actually don't really like the smell. It smells kinda fruity and plasticy to me! :(

  2. Hmmmmm yeah, I see where you're coming from. I loved them because I liked how easy they are to apply, whereas I find the Lip Butters a little too buttery, if that makes any sense...

    1. Ya, I totally get that about the lip butters! But the lip butters are more accessible and affordable.

  4. These are adorable! I tend to either wear balms with no colour or actual lipsticks though, I don't tend to go in between much.

    1. Hmm, ya you probably wouldn't reach for these much then! I really love in between lip products though :)
