Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Demure

I'm already a huge fan of Revlon's ColorBurst Matte Balms, but I've also been interested in their Lacquer Balms. I've been trying out the shade Demure*, which I included in my May Favourites, so you know I've been loving it!

Revlon's ColorBurst Lacquer Balms come in colour coordinated packaging, in the form of a jumbo lip pencil. These lip sticks have a minty scent to them, that I really enjoy, but it is fairly strong. Demure is a beautiful light peach with pink tones, and quite a bit of sparkle/glitter. This shade is sheer, but the colour can be built up slightly with a second or third layer. While the formula is smooth and creamy, I can still slightly feel the glitter in this formula. This is a shade that will cling to any dry patches on your lips, so try to exfoliate beforehand. I get about 3 hours of wear from this formula, but I can easily reapply without a mirror, so I don't mind a shorter wear time!

While this shade isn't super exciting, and I don't find the formula do be anything unlike what's already on the market, I do really like Demure because it's so easy to apply on the go. This is a shade that will go with almost any eye/cheek combination, it's kind of a no-brainer colour. I do think that I prefer Revlon's Matte Balms, but I still did enjoy trying out the Lacquer Balm formula as well. Have you tried out either of Revlon's Matte or Lacquer Balms? Which formula do you prefer? :)

  3. I really like the colour but it definitely isn't as exciting as some of the Matte balm swatches I've seen. I just picked up a matte one to try for myself. I can't remember the name but it looks fairly subtle like this one.

  5. I've seen this shade but realized it's too light to show up on my pigmented lips! I really want the other nude brown shade though!
