Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Audacious

My fiancé, Dylan, is part Dutch, and his family absolutely loves cheering for Holland in the World Cup. We went to a local bar (Hooley's on Elgin St. in Ottawa!) to watch the match between Holland and Chile, and as per Dylan's request, I had to dress head to toe in orange. So, I wore the only two orange clothing items that I own - an orange top and a pair of bright orange shorts. I wore orange blush (MUFE's HD Blush in #515), and then I had to pick out an orange lipstick. I decided on Revlon's ColorBurst Matte Balm in Audacious* ($9.95 CAD), and I'm absolutely in love!

Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Audacious

Revlon's ColorBurst Matte Balms come in colour coded packaging, which I just love. The shade name is printed on the bottom of the tube, with both the name and number. These jumbo pencils twist up, so you don't need to worry about sharpening them. The tip is a bit large, so if you have very thin lips then this might be an issue, especially when you wear down the pointed tip. This formula has a very slight minty scent to it, which I find a lot less noticeable than the mintiness of Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains. I get about 4 hours of hydration from this lipstick, but the colour itself sticks around for about 6 hours and then starts to fade.

Revlon's ColorBurst Matte Balm is truly an amazing formula, I just love this line! I've never loved matte lipsticks before, but this line has completely changed my mind, and opened my eyes. Revlon has somehow managed to make a matte lipstick that isn't drying at all. Audacious is a beautiful bright orange with slightly pink undertones. I've seen other girls review this shade, and it seems to look a lot pinker on people with warmer skin tones. On my lips, this definitely looks orange!

I think that Revlon's Audacious is such a fun colour for Summer! If you normally hate matte lipsticks, I think that Revlon's Matte Balms will change your mind. If you're also rooting on the Dutch soccer (or football) team, then this is a fun shade to rock on game days! Hup Holland Hup!

  1. Not drying? Oh damn, I'm so tempted to try one of these bad boys, I've got drier lips and shy away from all matte formulas but some of these shades look soooo lovely!

  5. I have this shade, and it's so fun. I do find that I need to use a hydrating balm first as it dried my lips a bit as it sets, but it stays so long once it does.
