It seems as though every company is releasing a gel polish formula, and I've been loving this trend! Revlon is releasing their new ColorStay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel formula that claims to be a longwear formula with a super shiny finish when worn with their Diamond Top Coat*. I've been trying out the shades Wild Card* & Cardshark*, which are two gorgeous shades that are perfect for Spring & Summer!
Revlon's Wild Card is a beautiful royal blue polish with a creamy formula. I used two coats of Wild Card for a fully opaque finish, and then one thin coat of the Diamond Top Coat. As you can see in the pictures, the Diamond Top Coat gives a beautiful high-shine finish. I love the creaminess of Wild Card, I wasn't left with any streaks, bald spots, etc.
Revlon's Cardshark is a pretty pale pink polish. I used two coats for this polish as well, but I did have minor streaking. You could really only see the streakiness when you got up close to my nails - from a distance my nails looked perfect. Again, you can really see the high-shine finish that the Diamond Top Coat gives to my nails.
The only thing that I didn't absolutely love about this formula was the wear time. I put Revlon's ColorStay Gel Envy to the test, and put my nails through gardening, washing my make up brushes, washing dishes, bathroom cleaning, etc. I feel as though these are fairly basic activities that most women will encounter during a normal week. For both shades, my nails started to chip on day 3. This chipping was minor, but it did occur on several nails. If you work a lot with your hands, this formula probably won't last ages. I do absolutely love the creamy formula that's super easy to use. I'd personally classify this as a great polish, but I wouldn't compare it to a gel formula, just based on the wear time. These polishes are $7.99 each, and can be found anywhere you normally find Revlon!
Have you tried out Revlon's ColorStay Gel Envy line yet? What shades are you loving?
LOVE Wild Card. Great review, and I too experienced chipping in a few days. The girls here who had them done professionally with the polish had it last. There must be something I am doing wrong!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it pretty?! Thanks Julie, glad to know it's not just my nails that were chipping! Maybe I'll have to play around with application though :)
DeleteWild card is my kind of blue!
ReplyDeleteI'm really loving this shade of royal blue! :)
DeleteOh wow, loving both of these shades! So vibrant and cheery. Cool shade names too. Will have to check them out! xo

Definitely check them out! Aren't the names fun? :)
DeleteThese are some awesome colours! The less wear time than claimed wouldn't bother me too much. I tend to wear gloves while doing dishes and I also switch up my nails frequently anyway. I think I need to look into these!
ReplyDeletePS so jealous of your nails. Trying to grow mine out and I feel like it's taking forever!
Ya, I like to switch up my nails every few days anyways! But I did still want to note that the long-wear claims weren't super accurate.
DeleteHaha thanks! The nails on my pointer fingers are constantly breaking, but the other nails seem to be doing okay :)
That blue is insane!! Love the high shine finish :)
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous!! :)
DeleteBoth of these shades are absolutely gorgeous! Love love love love love!
ReplyDeleteThanks Natalie! I'm loving both too! Wearing Wild Card on my toes right now - it's perfection!
