The BB craze seems to be here to stay, and The Body Shop has recently released their new Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream* ($15 CAD/40mL). This new BB Cream is formulated with tree tree oil to help control and heal blemishes, which sounds amazing to me! This formula is available in 3 shades, and I've been trying out the shade 01 Light.
- Blemishes and imperfections are instantly covered
- Lightweight formula gives shine-free complexion
- 3 shades blend seamlessly into all skin tones for natural-looking coverage" - The Body Shop
The Body Shop's Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream comes packaged in a small green plastic tube with a flip-open lid. This tube looks small, but it does hold more than the typical 30 mL foundations found on the market. This BB Cream has a heavy tea tree scent to it. Tea Tree is a scent that I used to absolutely hate, but now it doesn't bother me anymore. If you've never smelt tea tree before, I would recommend giving this a sniff in stores before purchasing.
I really like the idea of including tea tree oil into a BB cream, as the skin care benefits of tea tree oil are plentiful. I would have liked for the formula of this BB cream to be a bit thicker and to provide more coverage. If you're in the market for a new tinted moisturizer, then you might really enjoy this formula. Have you tried The Body Shop's new Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream? What do you look for in a good BB cream?
Ooo this sounds like a great product. I usually find straight tea tree oil too harsh for my face, but maybe this would be less potent. It's good to know that it's more like a tinted moisturizer than a BB cream, and I'll definitely be seeing if there is a sample bottle in store before I buy. Victoria Ess
ReplyDeleteThanks! Definitely try to get a sample first :) And when using tea tree oil, you can dilute it with a bit of water so it isn't so harsh!
DeleteThis was too sheer for me. I didn't find it creamy enough either.
ReplyDeleteYa it was definitely too sheer for me as well! Not enough coverage to be used as a stand alone product
DeleteI haven't tried this but I love the entire tea tree line at The Body Shop. I like that the light shade is actually light and not orange!
ReplyDeleteYa the shade is actually a great match for my pale skin!
DeleteI love the idea of tea tree in my makeup!! But I do like products with more coverage
ReplyDeleteTea tree oil has so many amazing skin care benefits :) Ya, hopefully TBS comes out with a matching foundation with more coverage!
DeleteI am a huge fan of bb creams and a huge fan of tea tree for spot treatment to but hear that the coverage is so minimal is sad! I don't like hearing some girls having their first experience of a bb being a sheer one that doesn't last for an hour in hot weather because that's not what bbs really are like! Thanks for the awesome review, I guess this isn't for those of us who want more coverage!
ReplyDeleteI know, I definitely think that BB Creams should have better coverage! This definitely reminds me more of a tinted moisturizer.
DeleteSounds awesome , i love bb creams , i have a hard to finding a good one for me that covers well , i will have to try this one out :) thanks for sharing :) rafflecopter name Treen Goodwin
ReplyDeleteThis one doesn't have the best coverage, so you might not love it!
DeleteI would love to try this BB Cream! It would probably not break me out. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYa the tea tree oil would work to heal breakouts, not cause them! :)
DeleteI haven't tried it but I am all about more natural ingredients
ReplyDeleteNatural ingredients are always a bonus! :)
