The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet

Let's face it, even if you have very dry skin, the last thing you want to do in the hot Summer heat is slather a thick cream all over your face. The Body Shop has you covered with their new Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet* ($20 CAD/50mL)! This moisturizer offers a boost of hydration, but the formula is super light and slightly cooling, making it the perfect Summer option.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet

"An instant cooling sensation for all day hydration. This silky-soft moisturiser hydrates and refreshes skin with an ultra-light light formula.
  • Quenches skin’s thirst
  • Feels like a burst of freshness on skin
  • Enriched with wheatgerm oil" - The Body Shop
The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet

The Body Shop's Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet comes packaged in a nice glass jar with a plastic screw-off lid. The sorbet is a pink colour, and it definitely looks like a sorbet. I think that this has a slightly fruity scent, but I can't quite place my finger on it. After a quick look at the ingredients, I'm not sure that I would recommend this to those with sensitive skin. Glycerin, Dimethicone, Alcohol Denat., and Silica are among the first few ingredients, which makes me a bit weary about applying this to my face everyday. If you don't care about ingredients, read on to see how this moisturizer feels & performs.

The Body Shop's Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet has a very interesting texture - somewhat springy and bouncy. This formula sinks into my skin almost instantly, and leaves a matte texture, which is great for Summertime! I prefer using this at night, because I do find that if I apply makeup over top of this sorbet, it can start to pill up just a bit. On hot Summer nights, you can also pop this jar into your fridge for an even cooler sensation! I find that I get a good 12 hours of hydration from this moisturizer - not the 24 hours as advertised, but I can deal.

Overall, I think that this is a nice addition to The Body Shop's Vitamin E range! I can appreciate the cooling properties, and when used at night my face still looks radiant in the morning. Honestly, I could do with a shorter list of ingredients, but I know that this will vary in importance for each individual. Have you tried The Body Shop's Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet yet? Are you picky when it comes to skin care ingredients?

  2. I really don't like the idea of having silica in skincare. I get that it will reduce shine and everything but I feel like there is a better way to lightly moisturize in the summer without putting silica on the skin
Also, I wish they made the jar prettier :S

  5. Agreed, I think of silica as makeup and in my primer. As a moisturizer I'm not so sure!

  6. Wow, the texture of this looks and sounds amazing, but I'm not sure if my sensitive skin would like the alcohol in it. Thanks for the review! :)
