I don't think that we actually bought anything at Panjiayuan Market, but we had a lot of fun browsing the stalls :)
Painting the insides of glass bottles!
From Panjiayuan Market we headed out to find a restaurant for lunch. We were lucky and found a vegan restuaurant, and here's what we got!
Dylan ordered a hot pot & rice, we didn't know it'd be so massive!
I forget what I ordered, but it was quite good & came with water chestnuts & was 100% vegan!
Next, we went back to our hotel to freshen up, and then we decided to find a Chinese Walmart! This might seem silly to you, but we really wanted to see what a Chinese Walmart was like, browse the snacks, electronics, etc. As for snacks, I found that China carried very few brands, but those select brands had a ton of options. Check out all of the different Oreo flavours!:
And the cereal selection!
The selection of oreos is unreal! Great pictures :)
ReplyDeleteI know, SO MANY OPTIONS!!
DeleteThank you:)
Oreo heaven, lol!
ReplyDeleteI love markets like these, you can get unique things that make great gifts.
I totally agree, and it's so fun to browse :)
DeleteThe Chinese Walmart looks really interesting!
ReplyDeleteIt was so cool to be somewhere that's so familiar yet still so different!
DeleteHi. Was just catching up on your blog. First of all, congratulations on your engagement.. The proposal post was just amazing. Wish you guys all the best.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I love browsing the aisles of grocery stores for local snacks when I'm travelling. I just got back from Phuket Thailand and tried plenty of their junk food. Lobster flavoured lays, coconut milk banana chips and walls passion fruit ice tea lolly were my favourites. Hubby dared me to try durian chips but I chickened out.
Aw thank you so much!!
DeleteOoh the coconut milk banana chips sound good! I don't blame you for not trying the durian chips - I wouldn't either!
Ugh the food looks so yummy!
ReplyDeleteIt was!!
DeleteEveryone always thinks I'm made for hunting out supermarkets on my trips abroad! I would have definitely wanted to nose in a Chinese Walmart!
