Maybelline Dream Wonder Liquid Touch Foundation

I've been trying out Maybelline's Dream Wonder Liquid Touch Foundation* ($14.99 CAD), which is a new foundation on the market. This formula comes packaged in a small glass bottle that holds 20ml (usually foundations come in 30ml bottles), that you shake up before each use. Read on to see how I liked this foundation!

"Breakthrough texture fuses with skin. A finish so impeccable, yet undetectable. Exclusive dropper
Medium to full coverage, ideal for normal skin." - Maybelline

This foundation has interesting packaging - the lid twists off to reveal a wand with a tapered end. I'm not really sure why Maybelline decided to include this wand, and I would have preferred a traditional pump applicator. I find it easiest to dab the product directly onto my face from the wand - not the most sanitary, but it's the easiest way to get the job done! This formula is very thin and watery, so it can be a bit messy to use if you try to pour it onto the back of your hand (like I do with most foundations).

This formula has a very liquid to powder feel, which I actually like! The shade I wear is 10 Porcelain Ivory, which matches my fair skin very well. There are 12 shades in the line, so hopefully you'll be able to find your perfect match. I find that this foundation gives light to medium coverage - not the medium to full look that Maybelline advertised. I prefer a medium to full coverage foundation, but this lighter formula has been a nice alternative for hot Summer days. Since it dries to a powder finish, this foundation gives my skin a nice satin finish - not matte, but not glowy either. This formula wears well on my combination skin, and only starts to fade around the 9 hour mark - really good, right?! If you have oily skin, you might want to finish off your look with some setting powder.

If you like a light to medium coverage look, then I do think that this foundation is worth checking out! Have you tried a liquid to powder formula before?

  1. i am really interested in this because i haven't tried any liquid-to-powder foundations (that l'oreal one looks so cool) but the packaging is definitely a bit meh! that lasting power is great though, i prefer a lesser coverage foundation + concealer (although i'm in love with my rimmel mousse) so this could be a good match :)

  2. this looks amazing. I love liquid to powder finish and I have the L'oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder and would think it is similar concept. Good to know there are so many shades available. Time to hit the drug store! Thanks

  4. Hehe glad im not the only one that just smeared the product over my face with that wand thingy, so much faster than trying to drip the foundation on my hand

    1. Haha, you're definitely not alone! It's just so easy to put it directly onto your face!

  5. I think they were trying to go with a little bit more of a vintage bottle look, therefore the wand fit well, but you're very right - it feels so unsanitary. I'd like to give this one a try though!
