2 coats of Equinox, no top coat
"The lustrous, plasma sparkle of this unique lacquer comes in an array of shades—from cool hues like deep royal blue and olive green to warm shades of strawberry pink and tangerine. Comprised of crushed micro-crystalline and vibrant mica, the buildable formula intensifies with each coat and is long-lasting." - Sephora
The Liquid Crystals formula is made with crushed micro-crystalline and pigmented mica to give a radiant, bold colour to your nails. The shade Equinox is a grape base with grape coloured micro-glitter. The Formula X polishes come packaged in little rectangular bottles with a black cap. The cap pops off to reveal a smaller brush handle. The brush on this bottle is very thin, so you'll have to use a few brush strokes for each nail. I do prefer a wider brush, but this one wasn't bad.
The formula of Equinox is a bit thin, but the colour does build up nicely with two coats. Even though this polish is jam packed with micro-glitter, this formula dries to a nice even finish - no bumps or grittiness here! I would recommend using a top coat to boost the shine on this polish. I did find that without a top coat, this polish started to have a dull finish on the second day of wear. This formula takes a while to dry, so do take a few extra minutes to make sure you don't ruin your mani!
While wearing this mani I've gotten quite a few compliments! This colour definitely catches your attention, and I think that it would look great as a pedi colour. I do wish that the formula dried a bit faster and had a shinier finish, but overall I'm impressed. Have you tried any of Sephora's Formula X polishes? :)
