Top 5 Summer Fragrances

Today I thought that it'd be fun to share my Top 5 Summer Fragrances! I have a lot of perfumes that I absolutely love, but these are my top 5 that I think are perfect for the Summer. In the warmer weather I prefer to wear lighter scents, and I reserve my deeper, more seductive scents for the colder Winter months.

First up is Jimmy Choo's EDP* ($59 CAD/1.3 oz), which is housed in a gorgeous bottle made out of jewel-colored Venetian Murano glass with a square silver & black lid. This perfume is both sweet and sensual - thanks to the toffee and patchouli notes. There's also notes of tiger orchid, giving a floral side to this fragrance.

Next we have Chloe's L'Eau de Chloé Eau de Toilette* ($85 CAD/1.7oz, $105 CAD/3.4oz.), which is housed in a cute glass bottle with an adorable mint green ribbon. This scent is very light and uplifting, but it still has great staying power. I can spray this on in the morning, and I can still smell it 8 hours later. The scent does slowly fade over the day, but it's definitely still noticeable hours after application. This fragrance is mainly made up of floral notes, and it's actually 22 percent natural rose water! This is a scent that I primarily wear in the Spring and Summer months.

Marc Jacobs' Dot EDP($105 CAD/100ml) comes packaged in a beautiful and over-the-top bottle, as we've come to expect from Marc Jacobs' fragrances. Marc Jacobs's Dot is a beautiful fragrance that combines floral, fruity, and sweet notes. At first, this fragrance is quite fruity, and I can definitely detect the berry notes. Then, the scent develops, and you can start to notice the vanilla and jasmine notes. I love the way that Dot smells on my skin, it's not offensive or overpowering at all.

Burberry Brit Rhythm for Her EDT($80 CAD/50 ml) comes in a beautiful glass bottle with a clear square plastic cap. The glass is etched with the classic Burberry checked print, and the perfume itself is a blush pink liquid. This fragrance combines notes of lavender, orange blossom, and musk. At first glance, I wasn't sure that those notes would mix well together, but I was surprised to find how much I enjoyed this fragrance! At first, I get the musk and lavender notes, but then the orange blossom notes start to slowly develop and transform the scent. I think that this is one fragrance that would work perfect for day or nighttime wear, as the light orange and heavier musk notes balance each other out.

Thierry Mugler's Alien Eau Extraordinaire* ($70 CAD/60 mL) comes packaged in a clear glass bottle with a gold top. This bottle is pretty, but it doesn't exactly blow me away, not like the bottle for Angel did! Just like Angel, the bottle for Alien is refillable - just bring it into a participating store (my local Murale has a refill station), and refill your favourite scent! Tunisian Neroli, Bergamot, Tahitian Tiare, Cashmere Wood, and White Amber blend together beautifully, creating a scent that's sweet, sultry, and bubbly.

So there you have it, my top 5 Summer fragrances! I rotate between all of these fragrances, depending on my mood, the weather, etc. I don't think that you can wrong with any of these scents, but they will smell a bit different with your individual skin chemistry. I would always recommend trying on a fragrance in store before purchasing, just to make sure you absolutely love it! What has been your go-to fragrance this Summer? Bobbi Brown's Beach is at the top of my wishlist now!
