Travel Diaries: The Giacomo Hotel in Niagara Falls

While in Niagara Falls, I had the absolute pleasure of staying in The Giacomo Hotel. This hotel is located downtown Niagara Falls, NY, and is within walking distances of everything you're going to want to be doing in the city. The Falls, casinos, restaurants, Old Falls Street, they're all incredibly close by! I don't think that you can get a hotel with a more perfect, central location in Niagara Falls, NY. I'm extremely poor when it comes to finding my way around by myself and get lost more than I'd like to admit to, and I'm so proud to be able to say that I didn't get lost once while in Niagara Falls! The Giacomo is a very tall building, and definitely sticks out in comparison to its' surrounding buildings. I could be 10 blocks away, look up, and see where I was supposed to be heading.

The Giacomo Hotel's staff greeted me with warm smiles, and made me feel at home. My room was just gorgeous, I really couldn't have asked for anything more! The platform bed with Italian linens was incredibly comfy - I had an incredible sleep that night. The ceilings are unusually high, which was another luxurious aspect of the hotel room that I wasn't expecting at all.

I didn't watch any TV, but the screen was a decent size! I also really liked the wallpaper - I know it won't be to everyone's taste, but I found it to be really cool.

The bathroom was very spacious, and was probably the nicest hotel bathroom that I've ever had - not that I stay in hotels often though. There was an abundance of white towels, and two white robes. In the Winter months I pretty much live in robes, and this was one of the comfiest/most luxurious robes that I've ever worn.

If you take the elevator up to the 18th floor you can visit the spectacular Sky View Lounge. This lounge has couches, a tv, washroom, and a computer. More importantly, the view of the city and the Falls was breathtaking!

The hotel serves a complimentary full European breakfast every morning, which I definitely took advantage of. Hint - their hash browns are amazing!

The hotel also had a nice lounge with live music at night, but I was just too tired to take it all in after a full day of travelling and exploring! Prices for one night can start at the $250 mark, and there are some great packages available. The Romance Package sounds pretty amazing! If you're visiting the Niagara USA area, I would highly recommend staying at The Giacomo Hotel. I was impressed with not only the accommodations, but also the staff and location.

What do you look for in a good hotel?

  8. Personally I have no experience with The Giacomo Hotel in Niagara Falls but my uncle stayed there just a couple of months ago with his wife and son. He told me about its services. Same as you he also enjoyed his stay there and found their staff members very friendly and cooperative. My uncle told me that they have a variety of hot and cold foods especially he loves their breakfast. Laura Herchel! This blog post is very informative and a great motivation for me to enjoy the services of this hotel. After visiting this great piece of sharing I can’t wait to try their services. Next weekend I am interested to go for a niagara trip and must visit this hotel during my trip. Laura! I am curious to know about its kid special food services because I am going there with my 7 years old son (Emmy) and he loves fast food.

    1. I'm sure you'll love Niagara Falls and The Giacomo! I personally didn't eat in the hotel, other than for breakfast. There wasn't very many fast food options around the Falls, but there are a ton of restaurants that I'm sure will have something your son will like :)
