Almay Smart Shade Powder Blush in 10 Pink

I showed Almay's Smart Shade Powder Blush in 10 Pink* in my recent FOTD, and today I'm back with a full review on the blush! This powder blush is meant to bring a natural radiance to your cheeks, and I put it to the test!

"Brighten up your complexion with smart shade powder blush. this lightweight, smooth formula glides on easily and evenly for a look of natural radiance. three shades of bricked color swirl together to create the perfect blush shade for your skin." - Almay

Almay's Smart Shade Powder Blushes come packaged in a round compact complete with a mirror and brush in the bottom compartment. The brush is very thin, but it is quite soft. This blush includes three shades of pink, which will create your perfect shade of pink when swirled all together. This formula is very sheer, so you will need to use a few layers to get the colour to show up. I find that I need a least 3-4 layers to get a sheer wash of colour on my cheeks. This is nice because you can't overdo this blush - no clown cheeks here! On the other hand, the extreme sheerness can be a bit annoying because you really have to take your time to build up the colour.

When you get your desired opacity, this pink shade is very pretty! You end up with a pale pink colour, with a dash of iridescent shimmer. I think that this colour looks very glowy and natural on my cheeks, and you're even able to skip the highlighter if you wanted to. This formula lasts for about 7 hours on my cheeks before it starts to slowly fade.

I think that Almay's Smart Shade Powder Blushes would be great for anyone that prefers a natural makeup look, or someone who's just starting to wear blush. The sheer formula is very hard to mess up, but it can also take a while to build up. Have you tried any of Almay's Smart Shade Powder Blushes? There are three shades in the range - Coral, Nude, and Pink!

  1. Hmm that's probably a bit too pink-blue for me, but it looks nice on your skin tone! I was a bit too scared of the polka dots to try this out when I got it haha

  3. eh, not into it being sheer, but DAYUM it looks good on you! I ignore almay products all the time, so maybe it wouldn't hurt giving it a go...

    1. Thanks! I know, I don't love how sheer it is, but the colour is really pretty once it gets built up!
