Anastasia Beverly Hills Pro Pencil

When Anastasia Beverly Hills' Pro Pencil* ($23 CAD @ Murale) first arrived in my mailbox, I was unsure of what exactly it was. After doing some research, I realized that this is a multi-purpose product. You can use this pencil to prime your lids, conceal dark circles, highlight, cover brow hairs, etc. Well, as with most multi-purpose products, I found that the Pro Pencil was better at some tasks than others. Read on to hear my full thoughts on this new product!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Pro Pencil

"Conceal blemishes, dark circles, and flaws. Highlight the brows, face and eyes. Cover brow hairs as they grow back in. Line your lips and even prime your lids for eye shadow. Pro Pencil does the work of 5 makeup bag must-haves in one portable pencil." - Anastasia Beverly Hills

Anastasia Beverly Hills' Pro Pencil is quite short in length, and it has a pointed tip. This pointed tip works really well to line the waterline and cover brow hairs, but it's not the ideal shape for some other tasks. The pointed edge makes it difficult to use to conceal dark under eye circles, and to prime your lids. You will need a jumbo sharpener to keep this pencil sharp.

Unfortunately, this pencil doesn't work well as a primer on my eyes. My shadows were creased and faded after just 2 hours, so I was pretty disappointed with that. I do like using this as a concealer, and it does a good job covering up redness and dark circles. I found that this product moves around easily, so you'll need to reapply it often, or use a great setting powder. I've also used this pencil to help define my brows. You can draw right underneath your brow arch to really help give some definition and shape to your brows. If you're in-between brow waxes, you can use this pencil to cover up your new brow hairs. I find that this shade is just a bit too dark to match my natural skin tone, but when it's blended out I can make it work. There are two shades available, and I've been using Base 1 (the lighter shade).

Overall, this pencil has a million different uses, but it didn't really excel at any of them (in my opinion). I wish that this product were more long-lasting, as that would help make it a better concealer and primer. If you've tried out the Pro Pencil, I would love to hear how you use it, and all of your tips and tricks!

  1. This looks interesting. I have a daughter who has awful dark circles under her eyes. I wonder if this would work for her.

    1. It might be worth a try, but it's not my top recommendation! I'd say try Benefit's Erase Paste first :)

  4. Hmm usually products with this many claims do fall a bit short. Maybe it was more shaped like a Clinique chubby stick instead of a traditional pencil format it would work better?

    1. Yes, I definitely think that shape would have worked a lot better!

  5. That's too bad, Anastasia seems to make such great products. I wonder why they'd even release this one if it didn't perform that well?
