Clarins' Rouge Eclat in Pink Magnolia* ($27 CAD/3g) is a new shade that is being released as a part of the new Ladylike Collection! I haven't used any of these lipsticks before, so I was super excited to try them out! They're supposed to have a satin finish, and an age-defying formula. Sounds promising to me!
"A highly nutritious, creamy lipstick with anti-aging properties and luminous color to restore smoothness and radiance to lips. Thanks to its Nutri-Youth complex, lips are intensely nourished and feel comfortable. Day after day, their beauty is restored and they become visibly younger." - Clarins
Clarins' Rouge Eclat lipsticks are housed in plastic gold and clear packaging. While the packaging looks very luxe, it does feel a bit cheap. I would have preferred a bit of a heavier tube, especially for a $27 lipstick. Packaging aside, the shade Pink Magnolia is beautiful, and I think that it's a perfect colour to include in a Fall collection! This is a mid-toned pink with a hint of shimmer/glitter. I feel as though this is a "my lips but better" shade, with the addition of some shimmer.
Clarins' Rouge Eclat formula is super creamy, and it lightly hydrates my lips. I do feel as thought I need to apply a gloss or lip balm after about an hour, but that's pretty typical for my lips. The colour itself lasts for approximately 4 hours on my lips, and it will slightly fade while eating/drinking. I can slightly feel the shimmer/glitter in this formula, it's a bit gritty. This is very noticeable, but it is something to note - if you hate that gritty feeling from glitter, then you might want to stay away from this shade.
Overall, this is a nice lipstick, but I'm not sure that it's worth the luxury price tag. At almost $30, I expect a lipstick to have amazing packaging, and an amazing formula. I do really love this colour, but the formula isn't super hydrating, and the shimmer is a bit gritty.
Have you tried any of Clarins Rouge Eclat lipsticks? I would love to hear what you thought about this formula! :)
Pretty colour! But I hate when you can feel the shimmer in lipsticks! :(
ReplyDeleteThank you! I know, I'm not a fan of it either!
Deleteit's funny, i didn't notice the shimmer at all! and now i'm a little paranoid i will next time i use it haha
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm just being super picky! Try it again and let me know what you think :)
DeleteOh so pretty but the shimer does look a bit gritty :S
ReplyDeleteYa, I wish it was more finely milled!
