Clarins Sunscreen for Face Wrinkle Control Cream SPF 50+

I'm all for sun protection - it's so important to keep your skin protected all year round, but we definitely think about it more in the Summer months. I think it's common knowledge that the continued use of a high factor sunscreen can help delay wrinkles, among a ton of other wonderful benefits. I've been testing out Clarins' Sunscreen for Face Wrinkle Control Cream SPF 50+* ($34 CAD/75mL), so read on to hear my thoughts!

"High protection for the face protects skin from the appearance of wrinkles and sun-induced age spots. This lightweight comfortable cream ensures an even, long-lasting tan." - Clarins

This sunscreen from Clarins is packaged in a small yellow plastic tube. This small tube will be great to travel with - I brought it to the cottage and it was super easy to bring it down to the lake with me. This is a very thick cream, so I think that it would work best for those with dry skin. I prefer to use this sunscreen on days when I won't be wearing any makeup, as it can take awhile to fully absorb. I reach for this product on days when I'm just going to be outside to read on the porch, or when I'm at the cottage. This isn't a sunscreen that I would wear daily - it's just too thick & hydrating for my skin type. As for the SPF 50+ claims, I can say that while wearing this sunscreen I haven't experienced any sunburns or tanning. This product has that classic sunscreen scent, minus the coconut notes.

I would recommend this sunscreen to anyone with very dry skin, to women who don't wear makeup, and to men. I might be able to wear this sunscreen daily in the Winter (yes, it's still a good idea to wear sunscreen in the Winter) when my skin is a bit drier. What facial sunscreens have you been loving lately?

  1. I recently watched a video about the effects the sun can have on ageing, so it's something that I am thinking about a lot at the moment. Will have to try this out, as it sounds like just what I need xx

  4. Aww that's too bad it feels so thick. I wonder why they would formulate it like that?

    1. It would be perfect for those with dry to very dry skin, but it's a bit too heavy for my combination skin!
