Fresh Sugar Lip Polish

I've been a long-time fan of Lush's lip scrubs, but I've been curious about Fresh's Sugar Lip Polish* ($26 CAD) for years! Fresh's formula is very different from Lush's, so if you didn't have luck with one brand, it'd be worth it to check out the other formula.

Fresh Sugar Lip Polish

"This unique formula is enriched with real brown sugar crystals to gently buff away dry flakes. It nourishes the lips with the oils of meadowfoam seed, jojoba seed, and grapeseed while shea butter provides long-lasting moisture." - Sephora

Fresh's Sugar Lip Polish comes packaged in a cute little plastic container. The lid screws off, and the scrub is a solid, oily product. Lush's lip scrubs are essentially just flavoured sugar, but this formula from Fresh feels very luxurious. I use this scrub nightly, by taking a small amount and rubbing it all over my lips. I then rinse off the excess scrub, and pat my lips dry on my face cloth. This isn't a rough, abrasive scrub, so it won't leave your lips feeling sore. The oily formula actually leaves my lips feeling lightly hydrated, but I do still like to follow up with a lip balm. This scrub gets the job done nicely - you lips will be left flake-free, smooth, hydrated, and ready for a pigmented lipstick! There's a nice scent to this lip scrub, that I'd describe as a mix of brown sugar and citrus.

I've been loving Fresh's Sugar Lip Polish, because it exfoliates my lips without leaving them feeling raw, like some other rough lip scrubs can tend to do. This is a pretty pricey item, since you can definitely make a lip scrub at home with olive oil and sugar, but it is a nice luxury product. Have you tried a lip scrub before? What's your favourite formula?

  1. This looks amazing! Love that it's oily and not just a dry sugar like most scrubs!
