Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in Celestial

When Rimmel's Apocalips Lip Lacquers first launched, I was obsessed. I tried out a few shades, and I really loved them & wore them all the time. I've recently gotten a few more shades in this formula, and surprise, surprise - I'm falling back in love! First up is Celestial* ($8.99/5.5 mL), a mid-toned pink!

"It's the End of Colour as you know it!
The intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine.
It's neither a lipstick nor a gloss... It's BIGGER than both!
LONG LIVE THE COLOUR!" - Rimmel

I really love the packaging of Rimmel's Apocalips Lip Lacquers! You can see the colour of the product at the bottom of the tube, and the lid has a cool blasted rock looking design. The doe foot applicator has a well in it, so it picks up just the right amount of product to apply to your lips. This formula has a slightly fruity scent, which isn't my favourite, but it isn't bad or too overpowering.

The Apocalips formula last for about 5 hours on my lips before fading, but the hydration benefits do wear off after about 3 hours. This formula isn't transfer resistant, so it will come off while eating, drinking, kissing, etc. Celestial is a beautiful mid-toned pink with a creamy finish. This colour has no shimmer or glitter, but it does dry to a nice glossy finish. Celestial is highly pigmented, but I still find that I can re-apply it on the go without a mirror. For the initial application I would recommend using a mirror, to ensure that your lips are fully coloured in.

I really love this liquid lipstick-gloss formula! If you haven't tried out any of Rimmel's Apocalips Lip Lacquers before, what are you waiting for? There's bound to be a shade for everyone in this line. What's your favourite Apocalips shade? :)

  3. In the hand swatch it almost looks like it has a mild blue sheen to it!

  4. The shades in this range are beautiful, but unfortunately I've found the formula disappointing...probably because I drink and eat so much, I constantly have to reapply it!

  6. Such a pretty everyday pink! While I wish these were a bit more transfer-proof, I love how rich and pigmented they are :) Have a great weekend, Laura! xo

    1. Thanks Jen! I also wish they were a bit more transfer proof, but I don't mind reapplying when I love the colour :)
