Sephora Collection The Perfector: Airbrush Sponge

I've tried out a few different makeup sponges over the years, but I have to admit that I still love using makeup brushes to apply my foundation. I still gave Sephora Collection's The Perfector: Airbrush Sponge* ($15 each) a try, and I'm glad I did! This sponge comes in two colours: pink and yellow.

Sephora Collection The Perfector Airbrush Sponge

"The Perfector Sponge flawlessly applies liquid foundation to skin. Great for attaining a professional stipple effect, it features a pointed end for extra definition and reaching small corners, and a fuller end for curves and crevices. It grows when wet and comes in two fun, summer colors—hot pink or sunflower yellow." - Sephora

Sephora Collection The Perfector Airbrush Sponge

The Perfector: Airbrush Sponge has a cool design with a wider end, a cinched middle, and a tapered end. There are some slight differences in the two sponges that I received. The pink sponge has a skinnier middle than the yellow sponge. Since they are the same sponge, I'm assuming that this was just a slight factory error. The skinny middle makes the sponge really easy to hold, and the pointed end make it easy to get at those hard to places. I like to roll the sponge underneath my eyes after applying concealer to get a more even, flawless finish. You can dampen the sponge or use it dry. When the sponge gets wet it grows quite a bit, and you'll get a bouncier, lighter finish.  This sponge washes easily with a bit of warm water and baby shampoo, but it does take a while to dry completely.

If you like using makeup sponges, then I definitely think that Sephora's The Perfector: Airbrush Sponge is worth checking out! I still do prefer to use makeup brushes, but this is just a personal preference. This sponge is cheaper than the famous Beauty Blender ($26), but I haven't used the BB so I can't make any comparisons.

Are you a fan of makeup sponges? Have you tried out any of Sephora's sponge offerings?

  1. This sounds pretty neat and I love my Real Techniques sponge that's similar to this, so I wouldn't mind trying this one as well!
