Sephora Formula X Liquid Crystals in Moon Glow

Today I have another Sephora Formula X polish to share with you! The Liquid Crystals in Moon Glow* ($15 CAD/12mL) is a very sheer shimmery blue polish.I think that this polish would be best used as topper, but if you're a fan of the sheer look then you might love it on its' own too!

"The lustrous, plasma sparkle of this unique lacquer comes in an array of shades—from cool hues like deep royal blue and olive green to warm shades of strawberry pink and tangerine. Comprised of crushed micro-crystalline and vibrant mica, the buildable formula intensifies with each coat and is long-lasting." - Sephora

3 coats of Moon Glow, no top coat

I was really surprised by how sheer Moon Glow is! The other two shades that I've tried from this line have been fairly opaque, but Moon Glow is still very sheer after 3 coats. Opacity aside, this colour is quite pretty - an  iridescent blue micro-glitter in sheer baby blue base. This formula dried very quickly, which I was really happy about!

The Formula X polishes come packaged in little rectangular bottles with a black cap. The cap pops off to reveal a smaller brush handle. The brush on this bottle is very thin, so you'll have to use a few brush strokes for each nail. I do prefer a wider brush, but this one wasn't bad.

Overall, I don't love Moon Glow on its' own - I think that the sheerness looks a bit odd. I think that Moon Glow would look gorgeous as an iridescent topper over a black base. Have you tried any of Sephora's Formula X polishes? :)

  1. Over a black base I think this would be amazing! I still have yet to try a Sephora X polish.

  2. Hmmm not loving how sheer it is, but it might look great over a black polish!
