Smashbox High Definition Concealer in Fair/Light

HD makeup has become quite popular over the past few years, and I'm always ready to try out a new HD product. Smashbox's High Definition Concealer is available in 6 shades, and I've been using the second lightest shade, Fair/Light* ($25/0.27 oz). Read on to see how I liked this concealer!

"Smashbox High Definition Concealer covers imperfections and dark circles with a weightless, good-for-your-skin liquid formula that leaves a natural finish and provides buildable coverage. Cell-energizing Ribose renews the appearance of skin, and soft focus pearls deflect light to minimize the appearance of blemishes and fine lines." - Sephora

Smashbox's High Definition Concealers are packaged in small, thin plastic tubes with a slanted tip. You simply squeeze a bit of the concealer out, and you can either apply it straight from the tube onto your face, or use your fingers. I prefer to use my fingers and a brush, but that's just personal preference! The shade Fair/Light is a light ivory colour with slight yellow undertones.

This concealer has a thin to medium consistency, but it still offers good coverage. On blemishes, I find that I can get medium coverage from this concealer. When used on my under eye circles, I love the brightened effect that this concealer gives. I don't find that this concealer is very buildable, so I'm never able to get medium-full coverage from this formula. This concealer does start to fade after about 6 hours, so I do wish that it were a bit more long-wearing. This might not be the best option for those with oily skin.

While I do really like this concealer, it hasn't reached holy grail status for me. I do wish that it lasted a bit longer, as I hate having to touch up my makeup throughout the day (other than my lips!). But the coverage is good and the formula is very easy to blend out and work with. Have you tried Smashbox's High Definition Concealer or any other HD products?
