Amie Skincare

Amie is a British skincare line that has officially made its' way over to Canada! I've been trying out four products from this range, and today I'm here to tell you all about them. I was really excited to try out this line because their products are all free of SLS, parabens, animal extracts, and mineral oils. This line isn't tested on animals, and the products are, on average, 95% natural. Off to a good start, aren't we?!

Amie Skincare

I've tried four products from Amie, but I'll start with their Radiant Dawn Exfoliating Facial Wash* ($10/150 mL). This product comes in a light green tube, and the cleanser itself is a green gel with exfoliating bits. This cleanser has a clean scent, and offers a light, gentle exfoliation.

I've been trying out two moisturizers from Amie. Their Morning Light Hydrating Daily Moisturizer* ($12/100 mL) comes in the pink bottle, and the product is a pinky white colour. This has a scent that I don't particularly love, and I'd say that it smells a bit like alcohol. This formula has a gel-cream consistency, and gives a nice boost of hydration while still absorbing into the skin quickly.

Amie's Morning Dew Matte-Finish Moisturizer* ($10/100 mL) is packaged in the yellow tube, and the product itself is also a pale yellow colour. I much prefer the scent of this lotion (light and a bit powdery), and I find that this formula leaves my skin feeling softer. As the name would suggest, this moisturizer sinks in quickly and leaves my skin nice and matte. I think that oily skinned girls (and guys) would love this mositurizer!

Lastly, we have Amie's Spring Clean Deep Cleansing Mask* ($12/100 mL). This mask comes in the blue tube, and the mask itself is also a pale blue colour. This is a clay mask, so it will harden on the face as it dries. I would recommend using only a thin layer, as this mask is very invigorating. The scent is very minty, and I find that this formula is cooling on the skin. I like to leave this mask on for only 5-10 minutes, as the cool, minty sensation can get a bit overwhelming. This might be a bit too intense for those with sensitive skin. I do find that this mask helps to draw out impurities, and my skin is left feeling refreshed and cleansed.

Amie Skincare

Overall, I think that this line has some great affordable options available - nothing is over $12! My favourite products were the scrub and the mask, but I'm also wanting to try out the brands cleansing wipes & toner! Have you tried any products from Amie? They are now available exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart, so keep an eye out for them on your next Shoppers' run!

  2. These bottles are so cute! It's good to know that drugstore moisturizers can be as good quality with good ingredients versus high end skincare!

  3. I think that mask may be too intense for sensitive skin as well. I have pretty tough and stubborn skin and even I found it to be a bit much (albeit still enjoyable).

    1. It's so invigorating and intense! I still really liked it, but I can definitely see how it would be too much for a lot of people.

  5. I've been loving the mask! The scrub is coming in the mail and I can't wait to try that one. I really like the mattifying lotion too, but it's not quite enough for me so I have to use a serum with it. While the other moisturiser is a bit too heavy, hehe.
