Lancôme Grandiose Mascara

I think most girls would agree that trying out new mascaras is incredibly fun! So of course I was excited when I got the chance to try out Lancôme's new Grandiose Mascara* ($35 CAD)! This new mascara is packaged beautifully, it's really a work of art. I haven't tried too many mascaras from Lancôme before, so I was really interested in seeing if this new formula was worth the hype.

Lancôme Grandiose Mascara

"This revolutionary, Swan Neck™ Wand Mascara provides exceptional length, lift, and volume to all lashes. It features Lancôme's first patented wand, which works with the shape of your face for the easiest application, and the curve of the wand mixes the mascara with each twist open, allowing for formula that stays fresh longer. The specially designed, elastomer-molded brush perfectly deposits formula on each lash, while smaller bristles effortlessly coat even short lashes from root to tip for ultimate volume. The ultra-black, smudge-free formula features Lancôme’s rose cell extract, which nourishes and smooths lashes while providing infinite buildability. This high-gloss, clump-free mascara leaves lashes fanned out with maximum length, and it is designed with long-wearing, flexible polymers, which allow for easy removal." - Sephora

Lancôme's Grandiose Mascara is packaged in a wide black tube with a "swan neck" applicator. The wand is curved, which is meant to work with the shape of your face. While this swan neck applicator works well, I honestly don't really notice much of a difference in the ease of use compared to a typical straight mascara wand. The wand is really cool to look at, but I'm not convinced that it aids in application. The bristles on the wand are short and plastic, which I find helps to really grab every last lash.

I've really been enjoying Lancôme's Grandiose Mascara, I find that it works well on my naturally long and curled lashes. I think that this mascara also works quite well on my bottom lashes, as it adds length and doesn't smudge throughout the day. This formula keeps my lashes curled, gives good length, but I don't find that it adds a ton of volume. One coat of this mascara leaves my lashes looking perfect for daily wear, but I would like something more dramatic for a night out. As for removal, this mascara comes off easily with a makeup wipe or a bit of Bioderma.

Overall, I'm loving Lancôme's Grandiose Mascara for daily wear! I think that this formula would work well on anyone with naturally long or curled lashes, but I'm not sure that it would do much for those with short, straight lashes. Have you tried out this new formula from Lancôme? Are you a fan of the new swan neck design?

  2. Yea I am not convinced either whether or not the curly wand helps with application. I find that this gives me a lot of volume but not much length/definition. Nonetheless, your lashes look great :)
