My hair is dry, damaged, frizzy, and coloured, and could definitely use some pampering. When I first heard about L'Oréal's Mythic Oil line, I was definitely intrigued. A shampoo and conditioner that are oil-based? That sounds perfect for my hair type! Well, I put these products to the test, read on to see if they met my expectations...
L'Oréal Professionnel's Mythic Oil Nourishing Shampoo* comes packaged in a 250mL bottle with a pump dispenser. This formula is a lot thinner than what I was expecting. I was expecting this shampoo to be fairly thick, but this is more like a runny oil consistency. I use two-three pumps of this oil, and massage it into my scalp and then through the lengths of my hair. This shampoo lathers lightly, and it rinses out easily.
"Works to balance hair’s natural oil levels by gently cleansing and reducing oil at the root. Hair is left feeling clean, soft, supple and brilliantly shiny." - L'Oréal
L'Oréal Professionnel's Mythic Oil Nourishing Conditioner* is a lightweight formula, and comes packaged in a smaller 190 mL bottle. I find myself using 5-6 pumps of the conditioner to use on my medium length hair. I do find that I'm going through this conditioner very quickly, and I'll probably finish the conditioner while still having half of the bottle of shampoo left. I typically reach for thicker, creamier conditioners, but this one surprised me. Despite feeling a bit thinner, this formula still packs a ton of hydration and moisture. I apply the conditioner to the bottom half of my hair, leave it on for 3-4 minutes, and then rinse. There is argan oil and cotton seed oil in this formula, which help to leave my hair soft, shiny, and hydrated.
The Mythic Oil line has a nice light scent that is a bit perfumy and a bit nutty. The scent doesn't linger in my hair, and it's not even very noticeable in the shower. I was pleasantly surprised by how hydrating this line was, especially since the consistency of both the shampoo & conditioner was a bit thinner than what I was expecting. If you have very thin or oily hair, then this line might be a bit too hydrating for you. However, for anyone like me with dry, frizzy, damaged hair, then I think you'd really enjoy the Mythic Oil line!
I've also been trying out the Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil, but I'll touch more on that in another post! Have you tried out this line before? What hair care line are you currently using?
