Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel in Roulette Rush

A good red nail polish is a staple in everyone's polish collection. I've been a big fan of Revlon's ColorStay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel line, but it was time to put their red to the test! Roulette Rush* ($7.99) is a true red colour, with the same high shine finish that I love from this line.

Together, they create vivid colour, brilliant shine and gorgeous life-resistant wear." - Revlon

This formula that claims to be a longwear formula with a super shiny finish when worn with their Diamond Top Coat. I can get 3-4 days of wear from this formula before it starts to chip - better than traditional polish, but it's not incredibly long-wearing. This wear time doesn't exactly rival that of a true gel polish, but I love that you don't have to bother with an LED lamp or pay the big bucks at the salon.

Roulette Rush is a beautiful true red colour. This formula was still a bit sheer with two coats, so I did feel as though I needed to use three coats. I found that this colour pooled a bit at my cuticles, but I haven't had this issue with any other Gel Envy polishes that I've tried. I did use Revlon's Diamond Top Coat to add some extra shine. I've worn this colour before without the top coat, and I definitely prefer it with the high-shine finish.

Overall, this is a pretty colour, but it isn't the absolute best red polish that I've ever tried. I do wish that the colour was a bit more pigmented, as I always prefer a polish that I can use just one or two coats for. All in all, Roulette Rush is pretty, but I do think that there are better classic red polishes on the market. What's your favourite red polish?
